Such a good discussion - especially for us single guys.

After following many posts on this website for a long time, I would conclude an implanted dick is generally BETTER than even a natural one for having sex.

it seems that only real drawback to having an implant (the surgery itself notwithstanding) are the sometimes hurt feelings of some partners that they are no longer the "author" of our erection.

This seems to be a purely emotional response with no practical basis, since we simply can't have an erection at all without the implant to help with the mechanics of it.

But that doesn't mean the (potential) emotional response in our partners isn't real.

So I put the question back to the group: how can we mitigate the (possible) emotional "disappoinment" in (some) of our partners so we can get on with the dramatically better sex an implant affords both partners?

Reassurance, reassurance, reassurance.

Demonstration, demonstration, demonstration.

Foot rubs, back rubs, doing dishes. gazing in her eyes,

When you no longer get spontaneous erections, surprise spontaneous shows of affection do wonders.

I't only a concern for you if you let it be. I have been with 6 women since my implant and none took issue with it and some were amazed by my staying power.

I've been treading this planet for over 70 years and have never had a discussion about my penis with anybody but my doctor and my wife. I'm sure nobody cares.

Probably does not care.
I would not explain it. Ignore it unless she asks. She has probably already seen a few of them.
I would wait awhile after operation to let her forget about it.
I have know a few nurses and one was telling about a clinic where they would sedate people.
They do it all day long. She was good looking. Only thing she told me was the guys that
would brag the most or hit on staff usually where the smallest. Guy hit on her was trying to compensate. Was like 7ft tall and was like a gold fish.
She told me you see so many guys that she did not care.
She does not care what you got. She is just their to do a job and get paid.
She does it for the money..
I usually like things extra clean. Did not know you could get down under waxed. Think that would hurt like hell. Used to get back waxed then I got laser hair removal. Maybe that’s something that would work out better.
Best of luck to you
Thinking of getting implant. Have not done it because of the length I
have lost.

A few comments, Jamesbond. Do not take them too seriously. My observations are not personal, nor a challenge to your opinions, experiences or your sources.

Sad, if true. I like to believe that the Nursing profession is populated by people motivated by caring/sympathy/empathy for people in need.

Topical analgesics can help. Lidocaine cream for example. I have never been waxed, but have occasionally had hairs pulled by accident. OUCH!. I am told that the pain ofg a waxing is very brief and one gets accustomed to it as well. But never completely.

Statisically, implants are still rare enough that a woman is unlikely to have had sex with an implanted man. There are threads discussing the math elsewhere in this forum. Here is one recent one.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13362
Consider the canard, "A gal would have to kiss a lot of frogs before finding a prince." and apply it to implanted men. Not many gals would have kissed that many frogs. Of course, a very sexually active man could encounter enough women to find that one who has had enough partners to have encountered an implant. Statistics are tricky. There is also the question of whether or not a woman who has found an implanted man might remove herself from the "hookup" pool. Once satisfied by one of us :D , she may not go searching for any other man unless the one she had dies .

Pete,
Poking fun here, but...WTF?
Unless someone gets close, you will not have to explain, even when you are at the gym showering, the implant is not noticeable.
As for your esthetician, do you have your balls waxed (ouch!)? She would not notice either, unless she handles you. If you usually get a chubby from being handled, even minimally, this time around, it will not happen unless you pump.
As for an explanation, just say 'surgery', they will leave it alone.
The human body is a wonder, but if you see the not so pleasant side of it every day, you become numb to it. Not in an uncaring way, but rather as an object that becomes less personal. YOU may be embarrassed about something, but Drs and nurses just see it as 'their job'.

I had Uro lift surgery a few months ago, so with co workers that ask I just say prostate stuff, and leave it at that. NO ONE asks any other questions after that and the area is correct for when I do go back :)

Funny, I tell some guys (those who spend too long standing at the urinal) that I had the equivalent of "sashes on curtains" - to hold open the prostate so i could pee. I don't share that widely, only to those I feel might benefit. Of course I give them the name of the procedure too.
