Penal implants

Postby Goodluckwiththat » Wed Oct 02, 2019 10:43 am

I am over 70 and have enjoyed an active sex life. Unfortunately, despite feeling like I’m more like 45, I had found that maintaining an erection or having the one I had when I was much younger no longer existed.

I tried pills with no success and met with several different doctors to see what was available to actually solve my issue.

Ultimately I found and had several appointments with Dr. Kambiz (Dr Taj) Tajkarimi, kambiz@tajkarimiurology.com, in Leesburg, Virginia. He performed a few tests including a penile Duplex ultrasound at his office and showed me very quickly that the problem was venous leakage. I learned that while mentally my body would know it was time to send blood down to my penis, unfortunately (probably due to age in my case) the blood did not stay there due to leakage and therefore I could not maintain an erection. This means that no matter what pills or shots were available, none would work. He discussed having a penal implant and explained the benefits and how it worked.

If you’re reading this, and you’re anything like me, you were thinking “there’s no way I’m going to have surgery on my penis.”

Rather than go through a lot of details, the short version is that I finally did it and it has been incredible! He and I discussed what size and what brand of implant was possible given the current size of my penis as well as my general health and we decided on a 26 cm plus coloplast.

I thought about it for a couple of months and even went back for another visit to discuss more of the details about how the surgery is performed and how long is recovery because it was a major decision.

I finally decided to do it and the surgery was covered by Medicare.

The surgery was done on an outpatient basis and did not take very long apparently.

Probably the prep of removing hair took longer.

There’s no doubt there is some discomfort particularly for the first few days but if you follow his instructions and pump the device up at least once or possibly twice a day after he “activates” it for the next 30 or 60 days, the results are terrific. Epson salt baths work well during the recovery but he’ll give you all those instructions

Just as you probably have heard the saying “use it or lose it “, that’s the same for this device.

Not only am I enjoying sex a lot more again because I can maintain a hard on for a long time but my wife enjoys it as much as I do.

You do need to recognize that for 30 to 60 days there is a fair amount of discomfort. However the way Dr. Tajkarimi does the surgery, there are no staples and the area of the incision is fairly small, heals quickly, and is not noticeable at all now.

You can maintain a full hard on for as long as you or your partner wants. The more often it is pumped up and released, the quicker and easier that becomes.

Do not be discouraged in the beginning about that process.

I cannot speak highly enough about my satisfaction with Dr.
Tajkarimi. I had quite a few questions while going through recovery and could call or text him and he got back to me very quickly. I like his candid casual style and never once did I feel embarrassed about my situation

I’m not sure if it will get posted but I wanted to share a picture so that you could see everything looks very natural.

Consultations on your new toy. I had my consultation last week and I'm on the same path as u scared shitless. Doc told me 24cm Titan. I see that u have a 26 so my question to u is how much did u end up with. I am currently 7 inches now and I'm very scared that I will lose some. 26 should have given u 7.5.

Thank you for your post. I too have really struggled with the decision to have an implant an I am waiting on my spot for consult at this time. I think you have to be mentally ready and tired of all the things you have tried that no longer work. I am tired and ready for implant. Bring it on!

I don't think this is the case. I've had my Titan since 2008, have never used it for sex, and have inflated it only rarely (less than once every couple of months at first, and then maybe once or twice a year). Even so, it continues to function as well as it did on day 1. If my experience is anything to go by, I don't think failure to use the implant will result in "losing it," which I take to mean that it will stop working.

Has anyone done a semi-rigid implant instead of pump-type? My doc says they are simpler and less prone to failure. I would like other opinions.

I do not think I would be happy with a malleable implant. Never seen one but this does not strike me as a good choice for most men. I would like to know why this is implanted in some guys. Under what circumstances is this the implant to give a guy?

My doc said it's simpler to insert and avoids the need to implant a pump and to pump up an erection. The rod(s) are always firm but fold down when not "in use." Not sure how that would work. Anyone out there had experience?

I've had the mallble and from my fiance's experience and my own the Titan is far superior to the bendable Rods... She said the Titan felt alot more natural and I quote her 1000 times better than the mallble rods
