Numbness

I have a numbness on the underside of my penis that goes almost to the Glad. I know this is normal from the surgery but any ideas about how long this will last. It doesn’t affect me being able to orgasm or my wife were very much enjoying it but I was wondering how long it would last.

Spelling is "glans".

I don't think the sort of numbness you describe is all that normal. Sure, your nerves in your penis are traumatized and may be inhibited in their transmission of sensations, but having regional numbness suggests to me that some nerves are more traumatized than others or nerves are being compressed differentially. Over time, if this is the former this should improve. If the latter, it may well get worse. It might be a good idea to discuss with your surgeon. Even a neurologist for testing of the nerves.

There may not be much to do medically, but understanding what is happening gives great peace of mind and if there is something that can be done to prevent progression, taking action sooner is better.

Thank you Sir I will. Perhaps a different surgeon because mine says it'll come back.

Lost Sheep, I always liked your post but to call me out for a typo, really. My experience from my many medical issues is that numbness is not at all abnormal and that usually feeling does come back but for me it has taken a long time.

My apologies. The correction was not intended as an insult. The word "glans" is so often misspelled (accidental typo or genuine lack of knowledge) I thought the mention was a service to the forum. Thanks for not pointing out that the correction was not actually a grammatically correct sentence.

Yes, on the return of feeling. After my surgery, I did not notice my penis' feeling being diminished, but I do notice the sensations of my scrotum and perineum seem more intense relative to my penis than they were in the past. So, I may have some diminished feeling, even two years after. I cannot really say for sure.

Lost sheep, no harm no file and I never noticed the grammatical error. Hopefully my issue is only temporary but it still works great.
