His infection might not be the fault of his surgeon. Falls under "shit happens" or "act of god".

We don't even know if he has an infection yet, but he certainly will get one with an open surgical wound which has had a non sterile fluid such as semen introduced into it, let alone being exposed to air etc.

We do know he has a torn urethra which has not been repaired, which is leaking urine and semen into his scrotum. He also has an open surgical wound through the full thickness of the skin which is exposing muscle and other internals.

This is not "shit happens" or "act of god". This is absolutely surgeon error (which does happen) and a total failure to provide adequate care after the error.

My comment is not for the lack of care. Only that infections do occur. In my wife's case, I was trying to illustrate that having several open gaping abscesses into your abdomon wasn't treated with any great urgency. Her wounds looked every bit as bad as his & she had several. Seeing your wife's guts is not for the faint of heart. She never spent a single minute in a hospital. Never missed any work. Everything was done in the doctors office. As I said, not a single antibiotic was given.
Agreed, he has a lot going on that needs treatment. I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on television. Hopefully his doctor has made a careful decision. I only know that in our case. What we perceived as a very serious condition was in fact not a very big deal to a doctor that specialises in this field.
Yes, I do agree that it sounds like his urethra is punctured. Again, lack of care.

Hibicleanse ( or something spelled like that) is one they gave me before shoulder surgery.

I went back & read his post history. This isn't his first "failure to heal". Seems that this happened in May also. You would hope that his doctor would be more involved since this is a repeating problem now. He had a large leg bruise & was held in the hospital for an extra day at implant time because he couldn't walk.
I do know that "failure to heal" is a problem that is disclosed before surgery. At least around here it is. I've been led to believe that it is quite rare.
Unfortunately he hasn't posted about any previous medical conditions. I think that failure to heal is associated with radiation treatments. Sure wish his history was known.
Hopefully he'll chime back in to tell us that all is well.

Do you think he is making up this story? If I read your post wrong, please forgive me.

I admit, new member, only one thread, bizarre medical details reported. Does raise questions, but less about veracity than health.

What about the pictures he posted matching the story?
