I have not had cancer but I have always had a small leak. Really not a lot to worry about or cause any trouble. It did get a bit worse as I aged. After implant it was worse and I tried using pads but I had a bad rash on my scrotum from them for some reason. My doctor has me on Myrbetrig and it seems to help a good deal. Thing is it does not last a full 24 hours. So I take it in the morning so I have good control during the day. I still have leaks but they are manageable. It worked really well at first but has tapered off a little bit. Still better than before I started taking it. I wear David Archy separate pouch underwear and just put a little toilet paper wrapped around my glans and that seems to handle any small leaks I have. And no matter where I go they have TP in the bathroom if I need to replace it.

My problem may be different than others but guys might ask about this. It does give me more control.

My stress incontinece and smal urine leak at climax ( climacturia) is related to prostate removal surgery. After first implant, I leaked a bit more often in the first 6 months which later returned to just stress incontinece I have as sequela of surgery.
I did not see any change in my continence after my revision.

Well I'm finally going in for an AMS AUS on March 23rd at Duke with Dr Lentz. This will be followed by an implant, (Coloplast), on June 21st so I'm knocking it all out in just a few months. Dr Lentz is a high volume and highly regarded surgeon and I have every confidence in having a positive outcome.
Has anyone experienced this sequence of surgeries that can share their experiences, (either on the board or by PM/call), regarding what to expect during recovery? There's plenty of information on the board regarding implants so I have an "outside looking in" understanding of that process but there's little information on the AUS side of things other than what's been written above. I'm interested in things like:
How long was the recovery time?
Any special advice for recovery based on your experience?
Did you have a catheter and for how long?
How successful was the AUS after activation?
How well were you able to operate the AUS and implant after activation of both devices?
And finally, would you do it again, (both devices)?
Thanks, I just want to get this misery behind me so it's not continuing to consume my life.

Old post, new problem for me.
I've recently leaked a couple drops only when asleep.
The last 2 night during early morning deep sleep, the leak has gotten worse.

It embarrasses me but my wife handles it well.
We bought a package of men's pads to put in the underwear and hope that at least keeps the leaking off the bed clothes.

I wonder why this has occurs all of a sudden?
No change on my fluid intake lately.

Tomas1, many of the blood pressure meds either are a diuretic or have a diuretic in them. I was advised to take those pill types in the morning cause they can conflict with your bodies natural urine supression during sleep.
Also, if your blood glucose levels have crept up as you aged? Your body tries to cope with that by more urine production.
Take a look at your meds & perhaps ask for an A1C test at your next doctor checkup.
Good luck.

I take the blood pressure meds in the morning.
One I also take is Amlodipine which makes me seem to carry water mostly in my legs.

Maybe, I'll stop that one for a while to see if it helps.
I also take Lisinopril, and that works, but not as well as the combination.

been a year since last post. The ipp pump and Aus pump get something in my scrotum (nerves) maybe caught in between the 2 pumps. My scrotum is always tender. I have to raise my IPP pump up near the top of my scrotum to pump it. The lower part of my scrotum is very tender. It is not uncomfortable to squeeze the aus pump as it doesn't take much pressure to operate it. I still leak when I startle my quad. I have learned how to ride it side saddle.

It happened again last night.
This time it was earlier in the night and only 2 hours after I went to sleep.
I used a men's incontinence pad from Walmart and it caught the leak well..

Today, I'll cut back one beer and stop the Amlodipine.
I know any effect the Amlodipine may have will take several days to show up.
