AMS vs. Coloplast

I have heard on Youtube that the AMS gives a better flaccid look, and the Coloplast Titan gives a better erection. I have also heard on YouTube that the Coloplast is expected to last longer before failure. What do you guys say? My surgeon seems to implant only Coloplast implants. I’m thinking I should call him before my pre-surgical appointment to discuss the pros and cons of each for my situation.

How have you implanted guys decided which implant to get?

BTW I am 6.2 inches when fully erect, and I would like both a nice looking and feeling penis when flaccid, a very hard penis when erect, and an implant that has a record of lasting a long time.

AMS and Coloplast both make good products, and countless users are happy with both. Very few implantees have direct experience with both, so subjectve comparisons are hard to come by. In general my advice is to leave the choice of device up to the surgeon- he's in the best position to judge.

With Titan, I got hard erection, harder then needed for enjoyable sex, but my flaccid look sucks. Looks like semi erect all the time and sticks out.
I am 12+ months post implant and my flaccid angle is not better then 4:30 or 45 degrees.
I wish flaccid looks more flaccid and more natural which is far from normal.

I wanted an LGX and got a CX.
The flaccid appearance is all right, but I still have a kink when flaccid.
My angle when flaccid is perfectly normal.

My wish list would be for an LGX with a larger girth.

I have the impression from reading here over the months that the Titan is realistic for flaccid look for the larger (5.5+ flaccid) dicks but not so much for average sizes. My theory is you need the "weight" of a larger dick to overcome the Titan's (deflated) stiffer material so as to hang properly.

My AMS hangs quite natural looking at 4" flaccid. It probably wouldn't "flop" realistically if I was walking on a nudist beach but I don't see that happening anything soon :? 8-)

My surgeon uses both brands and said they both are great products. I ended up with an AMS700LGX and love it. Just prior to implant surgery my hard length was down to 5” but after several months of cycling the implant I was back up to my life long 6.5”.

I have heard any man over 7” should definitely get a Titan, but otherwise there may be advantages with either brand depending on the specific anatomy and circumstances, such as having Peyronies curvature.

I guy I met with for a mutual show and tell had a Titan and did not like his results so was reimplanted with an AMS. He said he was happy he switched. When we met we were both curious regarding the comment of Titans getting harder than AMS. Neither of us could detect any noticeable difference and my wife and I both prefer when I am not fully pumped to full hardness so I can’t imagine why I would want the ability to get harder.

My surgeon also inflates both brands. In my 1st consultation visit with my surgeon he suggested the Coloplast, but said he would implant either one. I did considerable research on the Internet, and I talked to the AMS representative, and the Coloplast representative. I looked at each brand in the surgeons office on my 2nd visit and decided on the AMS 700LGX. I’m about 14 weeks out, and am very happy with my decision. My size is about where I was prior to my surgery, and with twice daily activation will continue to improve. The flaccid position is excellent and hangs very well. It is very hard when inflated. Activating the pump was difficult in the beginning, but now is very easy with no issues. This website was an excellent source of information.Good luck with your decision. Bailey

I was under the impression the CX would expand in girth... not length, but girth yes. Wonder if the CX has the same size 12mm diameter deflated cylinders as the LGX ?

I think the girth of the CX is same as LGX.
In flaccid condition, the 12mm stays there with CX.

I wish AMS made a larger girth than 12/18mm.

Last revision I had I asked the surgeon if maybe I should go with the Titan since I was around eight inches in length. He said that he did not carry the Coloplast product and that hospitals buy from who ever gets the contract. He said they used the AMS and that I already had the LGX cylinders that were installed twenty months earlier. He said we will change the MS pump and put a larger reservoir. He moved the cylinders further into the gland and just added rte's on the base. I am very satisfied with this surgery. The size is there and more. So all I can say is that the AMS does give you girth and length. Speaking by experience. Can not comment on Titan since I have never had one. I will leave that to who ever has one.
