Taking train after procedure and Bulge

Postby smphead » Fri Sep 20, 2019 8:14 am

As a single, i don't have a partner to drive me back after the procedure,
The hospital is about 3 hours by train. So i figure to go back with train.
Is it possible to take a 3 hour train after the procedure?

Als i'm planning 7 days off from work (office work) will that be enough?

Is the bulge (Titan) very noticeable? I hope i can get away wih the slipped disc excuse,
So i hope not everyone sees the real reason was a penile implant.

How long will your surgeon keep you in the hospital after the procedure? In the US, an overnight stay (23 hours to qualify as outpatient for insurance purposes) is common. After that long a 3 hr train ride should be possible, but not necessarily very comfortable. As to time off work, that varies with the individual. Many are able to resume light duty after 7 days, but some heal more slowly. As to bulge, that depends on your size - if you are of the large variety you may have a substantial bulge depending on how much you are inflated, otherwise it may not be noticeable.

Everything depends on the individual case - no two are the same, so predictions are not easy.

Hi Dg_moore, thanx for your clear answer. I'm 7 inch, so pretty average.

7 inch is not "pretty average" -- I'm a guy who is really "pretty average" and I have 5". Yours is bigger than average, brother. (Congrats btw!)

I could have managed the train ride after I was released 23 hours after surgery it it would not have been comfortable. It is not easy to sit with pressure on your scrotum at that point. If the train seat has plenty of leg room to slide down in the seat so your balls are in front of the edge of the seat, you should be OK.

I had a very noticeable bulge after surgery because I was left quite inflated. My size was nowhere near yours at that point so I assume you will have a pretty prominent bulge. I wore a loose sweatsuit and the top was long enough to hang entirely over my bulge so it camouflaged it pretty well.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

Arranging for a wheelchair-access train ride should solve the legroom question and relieve some of the sitting position problems, too.

One can rent wheelchairs if you cannot find one to borrow for a couple days.

One could advertise for someone with a motor home or van to bring you home, as well. Not cheaper than a train ticket, but you could lie down for the ride.

INFLATABLE.
DONUT.
PILLOW.

That was my savior for 7 hour car ride after implant. And of course, pain meds.

Good Luck!!
