Surgery on Monday

Postby Will in San Diego » Wed Sep 18, 2019 10:34 pm

In 40 years old, 22 years in the military suffer from PTSD. Been dealing with ED for a few years now. Taken both Viagra and ciales with no results. Wasn't interested in the other options and instead went straight for implant. I'm hoping this will give me some sort of normalcy. Doc told me that it was my choice Titan or AMS, however he did state that AMS was having issues with the pump. So I'm going with Titan. Wish me luck!

Best wishes! Let us know how it goes. We're here to help, so if you have any questions during recovery, just ask. I hope you recover quickly and enjoy your implant as much as I enjoy mine.

Surgery is complete. Spent the night in the hospital. Sent home today with a drainage bag which they will take out Thursday. Was told to keep penis up toward stomach. I was implanted with 18cm titan. Was told to gently pull on bulb at least twice a day or when I went to urinate. Kinda sucks pulling down on it cause it is really sore in that area. Putting frozen peas on my nuts every once in awhile for swelling. Hopefully I heal quickly and the pain in scrotum fades away.

Welcome to the forum, Will in San Diego, and thank you for your service.

Did the V.A. spring for the implant? The Alaska V.A. was very helpful (with certain qualifications) with mine. But the choice between the manufacturers was not an option. It was AMS. (I did not object, as the AMS LGX seemed best suited for my dimensions anyway).

Best of luck Will. Apply ice packs at least every three hours. The more the faster the swelling and bruising will go down. You will really like the implant. I really like mine. I had prostrate cancer that is why I had an implant done on me. I never liked Caverject the shots, just too painful for me and Viagra just did nothing. I was 58 when I had the first one lasted 15 years, second failed after twenty months, now the third is perfect so far and the best. LGX gave me my length back of eight inches. Makes everybody happy. ;)

I’m still active duty so everything was covered. Wonder if I’ll be able to claim for disability? I do have a question though, when pulling down on the bulb in between peeing sessions, how do you know if you are pulling down enough on it. I believe I am even though it’s rather sore. When I look t my scrotom in the mirror it’s definitely sitting lower than my testicles.

For me after having my third implant, I definitely wanted the pump way down on the scrotum. Before it was right next to the testicles and I did not like it, fact one of my testicles took a liking to the pump and was attached to it, like it it had attacked it. Now with my partial revision I told the surgeon I wanted it all the way down and I love it because you can separate it from the testicles and it is easy to operate. You can find the pump ball right away, and the button to deflate it. Not only that, but the testicles are more relaxed now and act as a cover up for the pump. You look at me and you can not even tell I have an implant.

Not sure about claiming for disability? I never was in the service. Almost during Vietnam, but the war ended and they did not want me anymore since I had two kids.

Drainage tube out. Now just really sensitive in the scrotum area.
