That would be a third group. I had forgot about them.

I had prostate removal surgery, and prior to this my dick was 2" soft and 5" hard (and 5" around). After the surgery and with an implant, it is now 3½" soft and 5" hard (and 5" around). So I have changed from being a grower to being a
show-er.

I considered my self very lucky as I didn’t lose any length after getting my implant, but keep in mind everybody’s anatomy is different, some guys may lose length, some of them will get their length back with time and some, including my self, didn’t lose any.

The important thing is to choose the best doctor you can and it looks like you did. In my case the doctor didn’t do any stretch test, he just saw my penis and said I was going to be fine but he highlighted that his goal was to provide me with a penis that would be adecúate for sex.

I was worry about my size but I was more concerned with a potential infection because the results could be very bad.

If you trust the doctor just relax and concentrate on following all his instructions before and after the surgery, be patient and remember the key on this journey is time, I am two months in and I already can see and feel a big difference vs. the first few days after the surgery.

Yes, you’re probably overthinking it. You’re a guy, after all, and guys’ dicks and their size are usually more important to them than they reasonably should be. Kramer has seen a lot of guys and a lot of dicks and he told me he is constantly amazed at how concerned guys are with their size.

You say you don’t understand why some guys keep their length immediately after surgery, some guys cycle to get it back, and some guys lose some and never get it back. All true. Have you noticed the wide variation in lengths, widths and shapes of penises in the locker room? My hunch is there’s just as much natural variation in how different guys dicks react to an implant. That being said, a doc can certainly leave you shortchanged if he or she doesn’t know what they are doing or are too timid about getting the tips all the way into the glans.

Personally, I can’t say for sure what I ended up with compared to my pre ED size. I was always a grower with a small (1” to 2” flaccid) dick. I remember as a teen feeling abnormally small flaccid and erect, because I wasn’t quite 6”, which seems to be the standard reference in our jokes etc. I know my prostatectomy took more than an inch from my flaccid length and left me with an “innie” most of the time. The few times I used trimix after the prostatectomy, my dick got fatter than it had ever been, but seemed at least an inch shorter than my old erections (and didn’t get hard enough to successfully penetrate. I cycled 1 - 2 times most days for about 18 months and then once every other day or so for another 6 months. And now I am about 5-3/4” bone pressed when erect, which means I have regained some or all of what the prostatectomy (and possibly implant) surgery(s) took away. Seems like I’m back to where I started 50 years ago. (Except that I have the confidence I never had that I can get it up and keep it whenever I want. And that is awesome.)

So what to make of it all? Size really doesn’t matter as much as we think it does (at least to the majority of women). I don’t think it matters as much as whether or not our dicks can get hard enough to use. And I can’t imagine the loss of some size can be as mentally and emotionally devastating as ED. Just my two cents.

I had the same stretch test concerns. I'm up to 5" stretched now, and that's after 2 months of VED and traction. I'm a peyronies survivor, and after a couple years of this, atrophy and especially a shortened penile ligament have permanently reduced my implant size expectations. I wish I had known to use traction and or a VED way back when.

I met with my doc last week and had the usual post implant length discussion. He said the stretch test can "ball park" things a bit, but he won't know what we'll get until I'm under. He injects it full of fluid to get accurate sizing.

In the end, a working dick of ANY size is a good thing.

FWIW, five decades ago 6" used to be world average but more extensive measurement studies more recently have concluded 5.25" is world average. Interestingly USA average is a little less at 5.1".

Back to the grower and stretch test... yeah that had me concerned too as I was about 3/4" inch shorter on stretch test than I measured with full hard on (which doc didn't bother to measure...at least not before the surgery). Even more worrisome is that when stretched in the flaccid state my girth was pittiful*...probably half of it's erect measurement of 4.4"...which it is back to after implant. Now at 4"+ flaccid length... excellent considering previous turtle dick.

*which reminds me, every once in a while someone here will mention have a "pencil dick" .... which if you think about the actual diameter of a pencil would seem impossible. If it was really that small I'd worry the damn thing might rip apart when stretched ! Mine stretched was more like a "Magic Marker" dick, which was bad enough !

I really doubt that your stretch test is valid. I forget which doctor said this in a YouTube video. He said he stands on the patients feet & pulls as hard as he can. Did you pull that hard?

I rest my case. He described a proccess that I don't think is even possible to do to yourself.
I'm willing to say this again. I personally believe the stretch test is really a poor indication. If you watch some of the YouTube videos. I get afraid that the measuring tool is going to pierce though the head of the penis. It can be very aggressive. Seems hard for me to even imagine a doctor shorting a guy if he is sizing that aggressive.
JMHO, the test is just a way to tone down big expectations. He is showing you that "hey guy, this is all your giving me to work with". Think about how much babysitting he'll have to do for the whole next year with guys whining that he didn't give them a 10" dick?
