Revision Complete - Quick Connects Question

Just had a revision completed today after a device failure in only 1 year. The surgeon used quick connects for splicing ruptured tubing between the cylinder & the tubing to pump. Has anyone had a revision where the surgeon had spliced tubing for a revision. Looking for advice on surgeons decision making. Hope this lasts
