Using Pain Meds

Postby edwardl007 » Tue Sep 03, 2019 3:56 pm

This is day 8 post op. Things are somewhat better. Have not used a lot of pain meds so far. Just got the thought that I should take one before going for a walk so i can walk easier and therefore exercise better. Walking is still slow and difficult for me. Your thoughts?

FYI, I work at home and will start tomorrow but no way could i go to an office. I am not sure how long I can sit... But someone here made a suggestions about towels i will try.

I did very few pain meds. Took about half dose for first couple days.

I have to say though for first week I took it pretty easy and stayed on my back mostly except for walking some. Week 2 started being more active.

Personally I try to avoid taking pain meds. I took one the day I came home from implant surgery, not for pain, but I figured it would help me sleep. My thought is pain meds mask pain and the pain is telling your body something. I hint if it is too painful to do something you are not ready to do it.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.
