An Advocate for Implants

Postby Greg1956 » Mon Sep 02, 2019 8:13 am

I am curious how much other guys talk about their implants outside this forum? I am not ashamed or embarrassed by having an implant so I do not deny having it, but it is not something I discuss in any standard conversation. However, I jump at the chance to help other men going through the frustration of ED.

Originally, my wife and best friend were the only two who knew about my surgery. I told my buddy because we are at the gym together regularly and after implant surgery I had to take a break. I knew it would be obvious when I returned and had a bigger dick, so I decided to be open about it. By doing that I found out he has ED but his is still treatable with pills. From time to time we talk about how we are each doing.

Prior to getting my implant I was so grateful there were men who would to do show and tells for me so I could know firsthand what both AMS and Titan implants were like. It made a huge difference in my confidence moving forward and what to expect after surgery.

Soon after I was fully healed from implant surgery my dentist had a Prostatectomy and was open about the nerves being severed so he couldn’t get erections. I told him about my implant and ended up doing a show and tell for him and his wife. He later told me he now has an implant thanks to my help.

Since then I have also helped my cousin, a former coworker, a neighbor, and my wife’s friend’s husband, as well as several guys from this forum. It isn’t always easy being so open and vulnerable, but I feel like it is something I can do to help others that a lot of men either can’t or won’t do.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

Nobody but my wife and doctor is aware of my implant. The subject of ED has never come up in any conversation I have ever had with anyone - if it were to come up I'd be happy to talk about it but it's not something I'd bring up myself. A also have an artificial heart valve that nobody knows about - not because of hesitance to talk about it, but again because the topic has never come up and I have never had a reason to bring it up. I figure everybody's business is their business, to broadcast or to keep to oneself as they see fit.

Great post, Greg.
I'd also be open about discussing my implant, but guys I know won't talk about ED.

Your post was also easy to read. I like the paragraph breaks.

I find the openness of the men on FrankTalk remarkable. In the short few weeks I’ve been a member here I have come to a much great acceptance of my ED. I’m more willing to pursue solutions with my MD.

It looks like I’ll have a show and tell with a member here with an implant in a few weeks. That will be a big help as my trimix dose keeps escalating. I still have room to go but an implant may be in my future.

Thanks to all who are willing to lend a hand to other men struggling with ED.

Being a younger man, I guess you should wait as long as possible. It does sound like you may need one before entering the wonderful world of Medicare.

Good for you, I do talk about my peyronies with others. I am scheduled for implants and can see me talking about that as well. A few friends know about my situation and my surgery. (upcoming). How often do you see a guy with a 90+ degree bend

Biker,
I have seen your situation online, but not in person. I hope you can get that taken care of and return to a more normal look. You are a good man to be open about it.

Great post. What you say is really worth thinking about. I believe that here on FT I have been contributing a lot by sharing my experience and trying to share things I have learned. I have been engaged in PM conversations and I have talked to the phone with several, mostly younger, guys thinking about getting implant.
But never have I done so in real life.
The only peson who knows about my implant is my wife. And a few doctors who I have been needing to tell (e.g. before a scan etc).
I have not told any of my friends, my dad etc. Reason being it would be embarassing I guess. But why really? I am sure that, just like you say, if I did tell people, chances are a few of them would open up on having the same problem and would feel relieved that is not only them, and maybe also they would find the implant is a solution to them. Now or in the future.

Worth remembering as well is that it is not necessarily embarassing. I just put myself in my own shoes 5 years ago. When my ED was constatnly hanging over me like a dark cloud. Had I had friend at that time who would have told me that he had the same issues and now had it fixed with an implant, and had he told me how well it works etc, I am sure that the last thing I would have done would have been making him feel embarassed.
Even if I did not have ED, I would have sort of thought that "Ok, so this man has ED, but thanks to his implant he can outfuck anybody, including myself. He may do it with a robot dick, but nevertheless, he does..."

Don't know if this will change anything in my approach to talking about this, but for sure, your post made me think.
