I'm one the few canadian who have an implant, in province of Québec, there is less than 30 surgery per year and only one surgeon performing the surgery. When I read people arguing about girth or lenght, for me this is a kid behavior from most of the 60+ men adult I think it's a shame, we all forgetten the reason why we have implant, we want to get back a sex life and If can get an erection stronger and stiffer than before that's a win win situation what ever the brand of the implant, being myself in the pharma industry for more than 25 years, I know how you can interprete a study the way you want,depending of what you are selling. I'v got a LGX I'm happy finally I have a hard dick and I can F.... like a kid and not worry anymore about ED. I enjoy my sex life now.

Well said. I agree about the reason we all got implants, but I don't fault guys for talking about penis size and being concerned about it. From a young age many boys are conditioned to think a big dick makes you more of a man. Boys who are smaller are teased and those who are bigger are admired. It is difficult for many guys to turn off those feelings as they become adults.

One interesting aspect of that is that most of us, pre internet anyway, probably didn't realize that the flaccid sizes we saw in gym class didn't necessarily reflect the more important erect size...the old "grower not a shower" deal. Being in the "grower" category it sure would have been nice to have my current 3.5 to 4" bionic flaccid length fifty plus years ago when taking communal showers !

I often share that
every male should know about growers and show-ers. Otherwise, in the locker room growers will think to themselves about another guy's dick, "Man! That thing doubles when it's hard???" And show-ers will think to themselves about another guy's dick, "Poor guy, that's all he has, ever. So sad."
(I jokingly say that we need to see each other with erections more often -- since there is less variation in hard dick sizes -- but that ain't gonna happen in the polite world of guys.)

While I had some vague notion that there must be other guys with the grower/shower thing going on, I didn't know of that phrase until a couple years ago. In fact without the web I probably would have gone my whole life never hearing it. Point being I figured if there was an official lexicon for the condition it must be more common that I realized.

Merrix, thanks for posting the link to that study. Dr Eid wrote a similar paper a a while age which has been mentioned in FrankTalk, too.
Greg1956, you comments are well taken.
The paper has a few weaknesses that the authors mention, and one they only hinted at. They tested at specific pressure levels ex vivo without regard to the pressure levels that men use in vivo.
I very much appreciated their choice to measure both column strength and beam strength as well as giving a nod to angle of erection. my angle of erection has always been a point of pride with me. When I was young and my erection was strong my phallus reached up to touch my belly, almost. Now that I am older and a little pudgy or my belly reaches out to touch my phallus,almost. I have always believed that the angle of erection helps to put pressure on a woman’s G spot.
Turning my attention back to the paper, I hope the authors or someone following up can make a study of actual strength of directions in men at pressure levels they actually use. I would pose the question, do AMS users commonly use a higher pressure than Coloplast users?
As far as the greater native rigidity of the Coloplast, especially at lower pressures, I opine that this is due to the greater stiffness of the Coloplast material itself, absent any pressure at all. The paper did note that the two brands become closer together in rigidity at higher pressures. So, the AMS products begin to close the gap with Coloplast products at higher pressures.
As the authors said, a lot more study would be useful
