Implant thoughts and forum

Postby SW0110 » Tue Aug 27, 2019 11:55 pm

This has truly been a remarkable journey for me. A little over 3 years ago I fell working on my deck. Straight down 3 feet on a 2 by 8. Laid under the deck for about an hour before I crawled out.

Prior to that I had no ed issues. Saw my GP who sent me to uro. Visit doc and told him what happened. His statement. Falling would not cause that just getting old. Take viagra. Took it and kept trying to have sex with a semi soft erection. About 18 months later noticed my dick started curving and a hard spot about 1 inch from my belly on the shaft.

Freaked me out and then started looking it up on the internet. Back to first urologist. What the f is this. Told me it was just some plaque developing, it happens. He did give me a brochure on xiaflex but that was it. No discussion. Nothing.

At that time I knew nothing about peyronies, the curve, xiaflex, or implants. No reason to. Never had an issue. I had a good hard 7 inch erection whenever I had ever needed it. Then it was gone.

At 2 years from my fall I was down to 5.5 inches long. About 60 degree straight up curve. Now I was worried. Pills did not work at all anymore. Found forums and started looking for peyronies specialists and surgeons. Not a good experience there. First 3 are detailed in numerous old posts but suffice to say i did not use any of them.

The only thing i can say is all 3 said. Yep you have peyronies, xiaflex is an option but your only real future for an erection is an implant. None of those however did any real tests. The third did try to get me erect with trimix. It took 3 shots of 20 each to get me a little hard. That was it.

One said try traction. He has good results with that. Also read about ved. Started doing that. Miserable time with that. Hours each day in traction or ved. Spent a lot of time in my basement with a dick in traction or pumped up in a plastic tube.

Found doc 4. Did some tests. Had peyronies and venous leak. Blood in and going out just as fast. Fall could cause it. He also did not even bring up xiaflex injections. I asked. He said my only real option was a titan. Keep doing traction. I did ved on my own as well.

Once I got that news, no issue for me, implant was it period. Wish I had known that about 2 years earlier, I would have gotten one then. Never really thought about any other options after that.

Scheduling and doc choice was my only issue. Eventually went with the 4th doc. Had it done in march 2019. Titan implanted. I had no real issues at all. Not all smooth sailing but my knee surgery was worse painwise. The pain never even got close to what my shoulder gave me either.

This forum was a big help with with procedures, recovery problems, and journals of what to expect. If you are just beginning this journey, search some out. It will help. When in doubt ask.

You will find some with problems, some with no problems, and everything in between. Most issues stem from doctor choice. In the studies I read, most negatives were mitigated by going to a high volume doctor. My issue was finding a high volume doc locally. I had a real hard time getting my first 3 docs to give me any information. I later found out out doc 1 did about 6 a year, doc 2 and 3, no idea. They just said they were surgeons and knew what they were doing and who was I to question them. Doc 4 said he did 1 to 2 a week, sometimes 3, had a team he usually worked with as well. For personal reasons decided on that one.

Got my titan, all went great, recovery was pretty smooth. Not a lot of pain or swelling. I have other posts of how good this thing is with sex. My wife and I have used it for hours at a time. The only difference between now and about 4 years ago is when I orgasm I just keep going. No down time at all. We go until we are literally to sore to keep going.

Am right at 6.5 inches with a wood ruler bone pressed. So am still .5 inches less than my original 7 from my best days. 1 inch better than my worst peyronies erection. Girth is normal.

Spend some time reading old posts. Me like others once things are going good do not post as much. The history though is incredible. If you are having doubts just scroll through some old topics and see what pops up. You are not experiencing, probably, anything one of us did not in the past year or so.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best. If this thing did not pump up tonight, but it did, I would be be back at my surgeons tomorrow asking when he could fix it.

A hard dick should not effect everything it does, but we all know that the ability to have s good hard usable dick does. It is life altering.

Very good story. I see at least two common trends between your story & others.
1: Difficulty getting good medical advice & finding a capable surgeon.
2: Your statement of being happy enough to want a replacement ASAP.
I sure hope that new or hesitant members read & reread your story over & over. Your first hand story should convince them.
Thanks for posting.

How true, brother. There is a reason that one euphemism for "my penis" is "my manhood."

I'd avoid that first urologist.
60 yrs old. Gradually worsening ED for 10 years. Pills and trimix not working well anymore. Will need an implant in the near future.
