RTE chat.... curious if they are absolutely necessary

Postby Evinrude » Wed Aug 14, 2019 7:32 pm

For example I needed 2cm of RTE to add length to my 15cm cylinder. Presumably the total length (17cm in my case) needs to be pretty precise to one's anatomy...such that the only way one avoids RTE's is to luck out and just happen to need exactly the cylinder length that is manufactured. Is this correct, or is it more complicated than that ?

Guess what I'm asking is, sans the manufacturers adding more "in between" length cylinders to their offerings, am I right in supposing there is no way to avoid RTE's for most of us ?

Overall length of the implant fitting well into the overall length of your Tunica Albuginea is one criteria.

The other criteria is to position the tubing. Where it exits your tunica and how much free length there is to position the pump in your scrotum.

I think I recall it being said that you can cut a length off the proximal plastic 'bit' of the implant itself. The plastic bit that sits in the crux, the bit to which you can connect rte's to.

So if say you required 17cms, the closest implant was 18cms, you could cut off 1cm. Avoiding rte's.
I'm sure I heard of at least eid doing this.

Yes, Eid did mine that way, he trimmed a 22cm kit to make 20 & 21cm cylinders. There's a 5cm rear tip on the implant that can be trimmed to customize the fit.

Assuming the surgeon is also able to trim the tubing to fit the patient, the only other reason for RTE's would be to move the cylinder forward so the tubing exits properly to fit to the pump.

I have a 15 cm implant with 5 cm RTE to position the tubes properly. Works for me with no hinge. The 5 cm RTE is buried deep down into my cruses within 1/2 inch of my anus.

Just adding one more issue to what has been said above already:
Adding more RTEs makes it easier for the surgeon to install the implant.
Makes the fixed part longer, which makes it easier to get it buried deep in the crus.
For an inexperienced surgeon, this is a way to make the job easier.

As for Oldbeek, if you have a 15 cm implant with 5 cm RTEs, it acutally means that half your implant is fixed and the other half is inflatable.
Your 15 cm implant already has 5 cm fixed part, then adding another 5 cm RTEs, means you have 10 cm inflateble length and 10 cm fixed.
That will mean that your joint between inflatable and fixed will be very close to your dick.
But as long as you feel your implant works great, then none of the theoretical stuff matters, right?
