Depends probably on the size of the cylinders....

Wow... only takes 4 or 5 pumps for me... but I'm new at this, maybe I could place my nut sack in a hydraulic press for more ! Makes sense the cylinder size would determine pumps but that much difference is surprising. Mine is 15cm x 12mm, yours is 24cm x 12mm.... thus would seem like if mine takes 5 pumps yours would take 8 or 9 ??

Maybe pump differences ? My AMS LGX pump is model MS and the reservoir 65mL

About 15 pumps to get hard, then I put in another 5 partial pumps and it adds a very small amount more. I also try to add pumps about 5 minutes later. If I'm pumping just to cycle and stretch, I repeat adding pumps whenever I think about it. Sometimes the repeats seem to add quite a bit more. Not sure if that means some fluid is leaking out or if the cylinders are actually getting bigger. I've had my 18cm implant for about a year.

Absolutely right, mr.skin...And how deeply one compresses the bulb.

But it is not the number of pumps that really matters, is it? It is the rigidity of the result.

I can get fully rigid in as little as 15-20 pumps or sometimes I achieve the same degree of rigidity in 45-50, depending on how fully I compress the bulb and which hand I use.

Slightly off topic, just had an ams 700 installed last Tuesday. How on earth do you manage to inflate and deflate without it pinching??? I can't even get in one pump. When I left the doctor's office, about 2 hours ago, he was releasing the pressure, and I was trying to pull away because it pinched so bad. Had mine done at a VA hospital. Thank you

Fletch: The pumps are very stiff when you first use them. Check with your doctor to find out if it is OK to get in a hot bath (you may have to wait until the incision heals). If he ok's it, the easiest way to inflate early on is to sit in a tub of water as hot as you can stand it. This loosens things up down there and makes the pump more pliable. For the first couple of weeks, this was by far the easiest way to inflate.

If he won't allow hot baths, a heating pad or hot shower are alternatives. I used all 3 techniques, but the bath was the best. I even ended up buying a hot tub, partially to help with the inflation.

Good luck.
