So it takes while to drain? Like a few minutes? I guess I always imagined it would drain to flaccid in just 15 secs or so.

Mine drains to about 50% by itself in about 15 seconds. If I want full deflation, I have to squeeze and squish thoroughly (not unlike squeezing the water out of a washrag, but without the twisting). This takes almost another minute if I want to be completely emptied out (some fluid will remain, of course, but I am talking about just as completely empty as I ever can get.)

At that point, my penis is as loose and floppy as can be.

Body position does not seem to be a factor.

Does anyone else here have pain when pressing the deflate button? It kind of feels like squeezing a testicle when I deflate. In my case it does not matter what position I'm in, it always hurts.

How long since your implant? It takes some time for your scrotal tissues to become accustomed to being squished between your fingers and the hard surface of the valve body and button. Also, it takes a bit of practice to perfect a pressing technique that minimizes discomfort.

Such information included in a "signature" is helpful. Date of implant, type, size, if there were any complicating factors (prostatectomy, Peyronie's, injury, etc).

Can you palpate each of your testicles independent of the pump?

When you deflate, can you identify which testicle seems to be experiencing the pain?

First guess is that your scrotum tissues are still tender. Second guess is that some adhesion of testicle to pump or tubing may have occurred. Third guess is that you are pulling on one of the tubes that deliver sperm from the testicles. In the first case, time will resolve it. In the other cases, gently pulling the pump away from adhering tissues should resolve it, and if it doesn't, consult with your surgeon might be in order. Asking this question of the manufacturer's patient liaison is free and often very helful.

Just a note that aprox one month and much "practice" after asking my deflate question I'm almost embarrassed I asked it as it is now so easy to do ! At first it seem daunting just to find the button, now it is so obvious and easy...sitting, standing, lying down...both hands, one hand....whatever ! Thanks for humoring me ;)

I really don't mind what position I'm in to deflate, but standing is probably marginally easier. To get fully deflated I have to squeeze. My doctor told me to squeeze first with the finger nearest the head and then add the next finger, and the next, all the way down. Essentially a reverse milking grip, squeezing from just below the head in toward the body. That seems to help get me better deflated.

When pressing hard on the deflate button, I've had a little pain sometimes inside my scrotum when I get some inner tissue of some sort caught between my thumb and the button. If I move things around a little and make sure the only thing between the button and my thumb is my scrotal skin, I get no pain at all. It does, of course, take a few months to get your scrotum used to being pinched. I think I still felt some pain as much as 6 months out. Now it only hurts if I inflate 4 or so times in a day, and then not very much.

Quincy.

All I need to do is squeeze the valve once for a few seconds with one hand, and my dick drains nicely within a few minutes.
No need to squeeze my dick or resetting the valve afterwards.

I could add though, since the original question was by someone stating lack of experience, that in the beginning things were very different from today (which is what I was referring to above).

In the early days, I found it easier to deflate when laying down on my back. At that time, there was no "One-Touch" either, but I rather had to hold the deflate valve down while squeezing my dick with the other hand. This maneuver just felt easier when laying down. Soon I started to do it standing up as well, or even sitting down. I also felt it was beneficial to press the pump once after deflation to avoid "auto-inflation".
And after a few months, I came to where I am now. I just press the deflate button once firmly for a few seconds and that's it. I can do it with one hand, and as I said, I often do it after sex while still inside. I never press the pump once to reset the valve and avoid auto-inflation. I just deflate and leave it. Next time it is time to pump, I just do the first hard press of the pump, and then I pump it up. Never any auto-inflation.
I have no certain explanation to why my deflate valve changed like this. I just know it did, and that's great. My guess is just that it simply needed some kind of break-in.
Regarding the auto-inflation, I just think that in the early days, what I thought was auto-inflation, was just something else. Maybe fluid (blood etc) still in my dick after surgery. And that the "locking of the valve" by one pump had no real effect.
I don't know. But there certainly is no auto-inflation now.

So the take-away from my post is perhaps that things can change a lot after a few months. So whatever you have at 1-2 months after surgery, do not assume this is the finished product. In my case it certainly wasn't.

At first, the deflation appeared to be more complete when lying on my back...was still getting the deflation drill down pat. Now almost 3 yrs in, it doesn't seem to matter whether I'm standing up or lying down on the bed. I can do the "wash rag" move to empty out almost all the fluid.

Doesn’t really make a difference what position I’m in. I just have to decide how much bulge I’m going to show for the day.
