I did that (or, rather, had it done).
I posed the same question and was advised against it by a few members here. The reasons cited were that a vasectomy carries an additional risk of complications (minor, but additional) and if something got complicated, it would be harder to sort out the cause (and the fix).
I asked my surgeon and he saw no significant bar to combining the procedures.
He did say that he would to the implant first to completion and only then, if there were no reason not to, do the vasectomy last.
I did have my left testicle wind up higher (actually above the pump) than I would have liked, and this may be due to the vasectomy, but all in all, I am pleased that I do not have to go under the knife a second time.
I probably would not have had a second operation for a vasectomy anyway, as the likelihood of me having sex with a woman of child-bearing age is nil. But having only one operation was so convenient, I could not see passing up the possibility. As unlikely as it might for a 70ish man to bed a 30ish woman, the fantasy was too good to pass up and to worry about unwanted pregnancy is not a factor I wanted to address. Closing the door on a wanted pregnancy was a very small consideration (what if a 30ish woman decided she wanted my genes for her child and asked if I would comply?)
I wandered off on a soliloquy. The short answer is that my experience was such that I say, "should be OK".

Haha, you missed a real possibility. I worked with a guy, maybe 60. His wife had died & he married a early 50's woman going through menopause. You guessed it. She struck gold in the first few months of the marriage. She ended up having a mis carriage at around 3 months. Bullets were dodged.

None that I could tell.
A Vasectomy is (once the scrotum is already opened) cutting and cauterizing the tube that takes sperm from the testicle to wherever it is they go, putting clips on the cut ends (kind of triple coverage, cut, cauterize and clip). Usually a little soreness for a couple of days if only a vasectomy is performed alone. This is FAR FAR less traumatizing than putting in the pump, reservoir and implant in through the same scrotal incision. (My implant was done through a scrotal incision.)
I suppose if my implant had been done above the penis, it would be a different story. Either my surgeon would have declined to do both procedures, required an extra entry point in the scrotum or reached down through the one opening to pull the tubes up for access. Probably that last would have been challenging.
