As the days go by counting down I am getting more and more nervous of this surgery. The nightmare rollercoaster ride has been nothing short of horrific. If I could go back in time I would smack myself stupid. This time a different Dr. Is performing the surgery already intending on taking my first dr. To court. Gonna be ugly and gonna make it public as can be for what he did to me and how they treated me. Dr. ETAI GOLDENBERG..... stay away from him.

I am in the same boat. I am sorry you have to go thru more surgery. It should never have became a problem. We all accept that the doctor we chose will do the right thing. My doctor refused to correct the problem when I confronted him about it. Like you I am headed for a 2nd surgery and am not looking forward to having it done over.
I wish you the best of luck and pray that you get a great doctor.

It took three surgeries to get my situation right. The original three piece, the removal ofnthat three piece and install of malleable space holder and finally the three piece I currently have. Hopefully the third time will be the charm for you too.

Good luck. Hopefully a better doc will get you where you need to be.

Sorry to hear about your problems & hope third time is the charm. While I'm sure there are excellent surgeons here in the St. Louis area (where Dr. Goldenberg practices), I did not want to take a chance & went to Baltimore to see Dr. Kramer after doing the research on this forum and others. I wanted it done once and done right. IMHO, the implant procedure is as much art as it is science & while no surgeon is perfect, Dr. Kramer is about as close as any surgeon gets on the planet in connection w/ the implant procedure. His excellent reputation is well deserved.

It’s a good thing that we are free of our old opinionated moderator. The choice of a high volume dr with a great track record is and will always be the way to go.

Ccrider, I have to agree. There is a large factor of art in surgery.

Dave52, a high volume implanter definition seems hard for me to nail down. I think Kramer is quoted at around 500 a year. Just guessing that the other 2 are similar. Dr. Karpman told me he did about 100 a year. He seems to have a good reputation. Where do we define high volume? I've seen several members post about their great results from surgeons that are way below the radar. No yearly numbers were stated. Not a lot of statistics to use in making a decision. Plus, lots of members are stuck with the guy that their insurance will cover. I'm thinking that at least some portion of them turn out ok. I sure wish that there was a better way for members to sort thru which surgeon to use list.

That is the truth. There is almost no way to find out how many a urologist does. I saw 4. The first 3 would not give me any numbers until I kept poking. Eventually 2 gave a number, less than 10 a year, one never did, just he is a great surgeon knows what he is doing. Do not worry, all will be fine, so when do we do your titan.

The 4th, I finally went to coloplast and started researching center of excellence. Whatever that really means. Found a doc about 3 hours away. Called and he called me back. Made an appt. Went for tests and asked questions. He was all business but answered my questions. About 75 implants a year.average. I can talk to as many of his patients as I want. Stretched me, injected me, told me the length he thought I would be. Decided to let him do it strictly due to timing issues with some health problems of my wife. I wanted it done this year and could get yo Kramer or eid till next.

All went well. No issues except for losing track of deflate button at week 2. Not his fault it rotated and I was pushing wrong side to deflate. Scrotum was still swollen so hard really to tell. Once that was done, inflating deflating and using it since. I got lucky with my choice. Could have gone terribly wrong.

But hardest decision i ever made. Putting my Johnson in an absolute total strangers hands i met on the internet. There is funny irony in there as how many thousands probably do that every day for a different reason.
