With implant is flaccid length somewhat optional ?

In other words can the surgeon "choose" whatever flaccid length seems appropriate or is flaccid length a function of erect length ?

I am a case of "grower not show-er" where normal flaccid can sometimes be almost nothing (head poking out of scrotum) but erect is 4.75" L x 4.24" G. Would be nice if after implant flaccid is close to erect size but suspect there are issues having to do with how it hangs and/or how parameters of the implant itself ? (In this case AMS LGX)

I suppose I ask this as I wonder if I might have input on the flaccid length or is it completely up to the doctor and/or the limitations of the device ?

FWIW, pre op tomorrow (June 18) and surgery the next day.

Good luck Evinrude on your June 19th surgery. Mine is tomorrow. Let’s keep each other updated on how we are doing? I too am getting the AMS 700 LGX. Wife & I still worried that we are making the right decision. Time will tell?

From all I have heard and read, flaccid length is 1) not usually a major concern - erect length and girth being more important to most men 2) not something we have a lot of control over (the manufacturers not having been asked by the market to address the question as a priority and 3) flexibility when flaccid being more of a concern than size for "stowage" during most of the day.

Your surgeon will probably say that he has no influence over what the flaccid size will be after implant. His main influence over erect size is in properly measuring you during the operation and selecting the implant for the ERECT size to fit your penis properly. Essentially, the size of your Tunica Albuginea governs the erect size and whether you choose Coloplast Titan, AMS LGX or AMS CX will govern the flaccid size and flexibility. And the surgeon has little influence over anything except the choice of implant (and how aggressively he sizes you, over which there is little wiggle room once he ensures the implant distal tips support your glans properly).

In my case flaccid length is not so much a "concern" as it is a "sure would be nice if... " sort of deal. In other words to go from a rather embarrassing* flaccid situation to one that is closer to the erect length sure would be a nice bonus of the proceedure.

While a proper erection is by far the greater goal here, I'd be a super happy camper if I eventually got a little stretch to put my erect length around 5.3" with flaccid at least 3"....just to feel "average normal" for the first time.

*Also practical reasons...like never again having to "fish out" the little guy to pee without dribbling on the pants...that sort of thing.

No personal experience on my part. But I have noticed that most "growers" report an increase in flaccid length. That makes sense to me because the implant cylinders don't really shrink back much. I guess you could suggest that the implant keeps your flaccid length stretched out a little bit. I haven't noticed a consistent amount but it sure seems like a lot of implanted members report that.
Oh, also it would be hard to truly tell because each man doesn't deflate to the same residual cylinder volume.

With the proper sizing for 4 3/4 length, your implant not inflated will be around 4 inch. My ams 700 lgx is 6 1/4 hard and 5 1/2 soft. Was about 1 1/2 soft before implant. AND you can always keep 4-5 pumps in it to meet your comfort level.

Yes, as GT1956 and Oldbeek point out, flaccid size is usually only a little less than erect size (and a lot more flexible, for sure).

And, as they both know, keeping your penis partially inflated will keep the length showing. The degree is completely at your fingertips' control. The word "Dial-a-Dick" is applicable both to the degree of hardness/rigidity of the inflated penis and to the firmness and size of the deflated penis.

Wow...that would be nice.... I guess my final curiosity is wondering if because my unit's natural flaccid state was so short, if the implanted flaccid might be "stretching" it so much from it's "historical norm" that it won't bend downward properly ?

( perhaps a nugget of gold implanted at the tip to weigh it down ? :? )

Good luck to you too Bailey. Apparently we are both going under the knife in Florida just a day apart. (Mayo Clinic in JAX for me)

Are 'The Villages' still the unofficial STD capital of the southeast ? :o ;)
