Dr. Kramer

Postby justbob » Tue Jun 11, 2019 10:45 pm

Does anyone have any info on Dr. Kramer's practice? I had an initial consultation scheduled for May 21st (about 3 months from when I made the appointment) which they rescheduled for July 2nd. Now, today I get a call that he's leaving the hospital to open a private practice, and they cancelled my July appointment. When I called the number on his website I was told that they're not taking appointments yet and to call back the first week of July to MAYBE get an August appointment. I live in the DC area, so a trip to Baltimore is easy if I know I'm getting one of the best surgeons, but I've been trying to get an appointment since February and can't even get my foot in the door!

Stick with Dr. Kramer, who wants to go to NY, stay in hospital overnight, maybe have a drain placed. Email him and get a direct answer. AKramer@som.umaryland.edu
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.

I had some correspondence with Dr Andrew Kramer yesterday.
His UMMC email is still valid but he offered another one, @gmail.com, that is also being monitored.
Also, he is responsive to texts to his personal cell.

akramer@som.umaryland.edu (still valid)
andrewkramerurology@gmail.com
(617) 823-1850 (suggest texting)

He is taking July off (performing procedures abroad?) and already has 100 procedures scheduled for August and September under the new practice.

Thanks for giving me the gmail address-I was finally able to get a response and book a consultation on 8/7. Finally a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel...

Of course, next comes the fear and anxiety of potentially going down this path, but hey, baby steps!

Dr. Kramer is a top notch surgeon. Recommend you stick with him. I had no issues at all with the operation or result, but many issues with UMD in billing, insurance, customer support, and more. They actually cancelled my first scheduled surgery as I was being wheeled to the OR due to overbooking the room, and then charged me for the pre-op proceedure. I tried to reason with them, but the billing office is a collections machine. I ended up paying to preserve my credit. Eventually they said they would refund, but never did.

Good on him for going private. Dr. and paitent will both be better off.

My experience with Dr Kramer has been wonderful but I echo the feedback on the UMMC being substandard. I, too, had issues but was vigilant about everything and I was able to catch oversights before they became issues and push for action directly at times. I hope the administrative aspect as coordinating with Dr Kramer will be much more efficient in his private practice.

Great response to Dr Kramer. I was just diagnosed with peyronies. 60 degree curvature. I'm trying Restorex with no results. My urologist was to try the xiaflex injections next. I've read reviews on xiaflex not impressed. I see myself having to get an implant. Kramer vs Eid any suggestions. Also Coloplast vs Ams. Still doing homework big decisions ahead.

My only comment here would be I saw 4 urologist surgeons. None recommended injections. All just said to implant the titan, very little success with the xiaflex. A lot of trauma. No long term success if it helped at all.

Titan would take care of issue period. My bend was only around 35 degrees but plenty on here with 90 degree curve the titsn fixed.
