Btw, I see that he has implanted members here & I haven't been able to find anyone that has had problems. The talk will cover what his expected brand will be. No sense talking about the size because he'll have to measure when he gets in there. I don't plan on dictating what brand to get. But I do hope that based upon the external exam that he can tell which make/model will be likely used. Trust in your doctor is important. Just my opinion.

True enough.

Dr. Eid wrote to me once that examination of the condition of the tunica would have a governing influence on choice of the implant as well. A too-thin, weakened or otherwise compromised tunica (hopefully already revealed -I THINK- by an external examination) might dictate use of one or the other maker's product. If that revelation occurred only after the operation had begun and the patient unable to make informed choices, the surgeon would proceed with a choice in the patient's best interest. This is why (as you indicate you will do) FULLY discussing desires, options and choices is important. Kudos to you for your preparatory work.

Good luck and my prayers are with you and with your surgeon and the surgical team.

You are wise to ignore the petty sniping between some members (I note that Larry1026 appears to be speaking as a member, not a moderator, when he addressed Merrix's post). We are all human and sometimes go off the rails. Forgive them if you can or, at least, give them forbearance as any of us might wish to receive if we lose our composure or focus. Enough said about that.

My post was trying to direct focus towards what I felt is perhaps a more reasonable path. To each his own but from my reading. The Titan seems like a bit of a niche product. It looks to me like it fills a legitimate need for a style of penis. One that is represented by a smaller percentage of the male population. I personally would shudder at the thought of insisting to my doctor that I "need" a Titan. Honest self evaluation leads me to believe that at best I might only fit a subset of it's features. I.e. I have/had plenty of girth but not so much on length. If, upon examination, my surgeon believes that I'll be better off with a Titan then so be it.
Since I will be most likely be paying cash. I intend on a good fruitful discussion with the doctor. I'm a hands on type of patient. I had phimosis, I didn't want a full circumcision. Just a hair cut, a little off the top so to speak. First doctor it was all or nothing. So on to #2. He understood my desire & did a great job.
As a side note. Having had a penis surgery already. The pain wasn't bad. Swelling took a few weeks to go down, no infection. My take was that surgery on my penis was way worse in my mind than in reality. Guys, don't worry about the pain, swelling or infection. That area of your body is pretty resilient.

Each product is proper for each patient, as (best) determined by the surgeon and patient working (and deciding) together. The advice of lay persons (however much knowledgeable) in the very best circumstances lacks first-hand knowledge/examination of the patient with the level of expertise of a competent urologist.

So, my go-to caveat:

Believe only half of what you see and one quarter of what you hear. That does double for anything you get from the internet.

75% of the doctors doing implants are amatures they use the AMS LGX brand because they hope it will expand and make up for their inexperience. How do i know this, my locale uro told me he does a few a year and he uses the AMX because its more likely to fill the space better with less chance of erosion. He's right because unlike the pros that know what they are doing he's afraid to put the implant in to the tip . I wouldn't trade my 6" Titan dick for an 6" limp AMS dick. So Larry your still wrong.

Larry your duty as a moderator is to facilitate debate between the users of this forum not to set the stage with what YOU believe so keep your opinions to your self as a moderator if you as a user of this forum want to say something that is your opinion then set up another user name and say what you please but not with the title of Moderator.

Thanks. It is my own belief, that a skilled person working in his craft that he enjoys could make either product work reasonably well in almost any patient. I base this to a degree upon my own career. I had co-workers proclaim a project as dead. No way to get it right. I've taken over the project & lo & behold. It turned out good. True, not in the medical field but I forget which high volume implanter that said to look for a surgeon that loved his craft. Or some phrase similar. A poor surgeon can screw up a simple procedure. I've seen several members say to get the best doctor that you can find. That man will most likely install the best implant for you.

Dr. Eid wrote that ("Find a surgeon in love with his craft.") to me a couple years ago. Summer/Fall of 2017. Other surgeons or he may have used the same phrase with other people, but I quoted Dr. Eid here in several threads.

While the AMS gives me a hard and straight 8 inch erection, it will not lift my penis beyond the 4:00 position. Also the girth is under 5 inches. I didnt lose much length, but girth is down 1 inch. From Larry's comment it sounds like the titan might have been an option. Not at all dissatisified with my current result from a functional standpoint , but a bit more elevation and girth would be a bonus. Will inquire at my first revision. Which is hopefully in 13+ years.
