Coloplast OTR vs. Genesis

Postby BeardedMan » Mon Apr 29, 2019 11:06 am

I'm having surgery in a couple months and still going back and forth with which kind of pump to get. One Touch or Genesis. Dr Kramer prefers the Genesis. The concept behind OTR sounds good but a number of guys on here have said they had trouble with it locking up or that it takes a hard sustained push. The Genesis takes a hard sustained push as well I think. Does anyone have experience with both? Barring that wondering if anyone wishes they had gotten the other pump. Thanks guys.

I'm new to this site. Not sure how guys posted their particulars on the bottom of messages. Let me know and I'm happy to share as I go through my journey.

Many members are posting about problems very soon into the healing process. Those of us who have been around a while know that all they need to do is be patient and start in a hot bath as soon as the Dr. says it's ok. The hot water on the rubber pump makes it easier to press, and the more it is cycled (pumped up) the softer it gets. If Dr. Kramer says the Genesis is the best, then the Genesis is the best. Dr. Kramer is probably one of the best implant surgeons in the world. I sent you a private message with signature posting details. :D

I have the otr and other than having the pump twist on me back in week 3 and not being able to find the deflate button for a few days back then it has been working fine.

I just push the button for a few seconds while squeezing my dick and it goes right down. Hangs around 4.30 or so and pretty much stays that way till I pump it back up.

Pump though is always full of saline and really hard. My wife says no way she would not know something else was in my scrotum with the balls.

The pump itself is easy to use and pump is just full of saline even when I am pumped fully. It never empties. My penis is always about 5.5 or so inches long though. I always kept about 5 though flaccid before so just a little longer.

I have to say I like the otr pump. Pretty small even if it is hard.i have no problem using it with either hand. I practice with both hands using it. You never know might break a hand one day.

I have only had the OTR pump. It was locked right out of surgery, hard as a rock, I think the Dr. may have left it that way on purpose to keep me from pumping it up before he wanted me too. After about two weeks I did manage to "unlock" it but didn't know what I was doing and pumped it up then couldn't find the release button to let it back down. Very embarrassing to have to make that phone call!!! Anyway, he let it down and after 3 more weeks went back to his office and he showed me how to use it. It's been almost a year now and I have not had any problems with the pump or anything else. If I just press and hold the release button for about 5 sec. I go down to kind of a semi ( I'm 5.5" hard), by it's self. If I squeeze my dick while holding the button, it goes completely flaccid in just a few seconds. I'm 3.5" long completely flaccid which is a 3" improvement over what I had before the implant. I leave it at kind of a soft semi, about 4", most of the time, love that ability! Overall the pump works just fine, I would not change a thing.
