Post op isolated swelling

Postby Dogface » Thu Apr 25, 2019 8:53 am

I'm 8 days post op and everything seems fine except left testicle. Have swelling on left side which sticks out some. Ice helps however if I walk around or stand swelling and pinch type pain returns. I'm really starting to worry since everything else seems great except for this one area. Right testicle feels fine and hangs much lower than the sore left. I'm concerned may have to return to Maryland to have Dr. Kramer look at this problem if it doesn't get better soon.

Has anybody else had isolated swelling on one side? Not sure but maybe the tubes run up that direction.
RP surgery for PCa March 2011, rising PSA 2013, remission since 2014. Chronic ED since 2011 tried pills, VED, and injections. Implanted LGX 4/17/19 Dr. Kramer. On scale of 1-10 I'd give it an 8. That's due to a slight curve.

My left testicle had a hard time living with the new pump. Is your pump on the left side? Are you pulling the pump down daily to separate it from the testicle?

DF,
Like you said it's still early. But because I'm heading to Kramer your issue is very important to me.
As the swelling goes down in the next week see if you can gently pull your pump down below your testicles. You will know when the tubes are maxed out will feel like the pump is stitched in place when the tubes begin pulling on your corpora.
I had to have a special surgery just to fix that issue a pre assembled unit was used they are designed for Pygmies. Check your card to see if the stamp is over the pre assembled box.
With your pump below your testicles it is impossible for it to impact them. Hope that isn't your problem.

Pump is still between testicles and low. Pain is located about middle of scrotum on left side. Left testicle might be rubbing some of the tubing causing discomfort. I'm about 2 weeks post op. Doc said give it at least 3 weeks for pain to subside. So far no signs of infection everything looks like it's healing well. No pain at all when laying on my back. Must weather the storm.

Sounds like a good plan. As your internal swelling goes down more room become available your scrotum expands dramatically. That by itself might solve things. Hopefully till then you can gently massage that left testicle to relieve the pressure.
