Doctor reviews

Postby DougAnd » Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:12 pm

Google your Doctor's name plus reviews and you will come up with several websites that rate performance. I've been looking for a good RP specialist in my area just in case. Looked up one of my former surgeons and was shocked. This site posted some one star comments. One guy had a RP and was furious that no one told him about possible side effects ie loss of length loss of sensation loss of erection . A second guy had his urethra severed in a car accident and was mad that the Doctor did not clear his schedule but tried to do both surgeries at the same time.
Really makes you wonder.

Great advice Doug. While I agree reviews are a great tool, I've also come to realize that most people who review only do so if they have a bad experience. Those who have a good experience tend to be happy and go on with their life and not write reviews. I know I generally fall in that category. People, myself included, love to complain when something goes wrong/bad but won't praise with something goes right/good. Now I don't ignore the bad ones but if there are not a great number of reviews and they cover a large time frame then I defiantly look closer. Just my 2 cents.

I agree but the reviews I saw about my doctor were about his secretary being rude (I didn't think so) and he supposedly tried to rush you out the door (not my experience at all), etc. That kind of thing but nothing about his surgical skill. :)

Just googling My Dr name, I found he had been doing this a long time. He was the go to guy for fixing screw ups and had written several papers on implants back in the 90s. To bad he retired.

I agree with others here. If i am reading reviews i really do not care if i had to wait an extra 30 minutes, or the waiting room chairs were not comfortable. Who gives a flying flip.

I look for does he listen. Will he explain things to me. Give me my options. Give me his opinion. If i have an issue will he call me back. Will his nurse talk to me if i need help. Will they get him on the phone. Case in point i was talking to his nurse, he walked by took phone and answered my questions.

The surgeon i went with i thought did a great job. Some reviews said he rushed around. He did that but any question i had he answered. He let me know what to expect. He treated me with respect. I do not need my hand held. I wanted a professional who appeared to know his stuff and was just arrogant enough to convey he would do a great job on me. He told me if i wanted to go somewhere else no problem but if i went with him here is what to expect.

He met my expectations and am happy with my outcome.
