Coloplast Titan Warranty

Postby asa0518 » Tue Apr 09, 2019 9:02 pm

I have a quick question. I had a Coloplast Titan implanted in March of 2018, but it's already failed on me. I used it less than average I would say, but it didn't even make it a year. My surgeon was told and then told me that it was covered under the lifetime warranty. Now the rep is telling my surgeon that they aren't covering it. Anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on this?

Warranty supposedly only covers a defect in the product and like all warranties, they have the right to inspect it and often deny there is a defect. See warranty here: https://www.coloplastmd.com/wp-content/ ... -00929.pdf

The bookkeeping department of the hospital usually does not care if you pay for it, coloplast reimburses, or insurance pays. All they care is WE WANT THE MONEY!
You doctor should have surgical notes and pictures to show the defect that was found. I have found on other product issues that their "technicians" often report "could not duplicate the problem". In other words they would claim the pump worked just fine despite the possibility if it was a pre-assembled unit that there was a bit of debris in the pump valving that flushed out when the doctor diced the hoses removing the junker. Doctor won't make a cent going to bat for you but an honorable one will. Best luck to you. I wouldn't give in. Why the hell would anyone go through a second surgery if the damn thing was just lovely?
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah that makes sense, but it seems like if it didn't even last a year that there was something defective about it? Also the rep has claimed they won't cover it even before I have had it taken out and inspected so not sure what the deal is with that.

Contact a lawyer... stick it up their sphincter just as far and hard as you can. :)
