Bionicrocketman wrote:Hello to all. I never gave much thought about how things get their names. Different names and words means different things to different people. As far as I can find the implants picked up the nick name bionic from the medical field. They gave them that name many years ago. This is my opinion and my opinion only. It is NOT meant to offend anyone I just want that out there because in the last six years I have been on this site I have seen several wars start that ended by people leaving the site by their own choice or not their choice. That said I enjoy the site and the site has a lot to offer. By trying to get so politically correct then say I have a tooth implant, I have a leg implant, I have a heart implant or I have a penile implant. Now all implants can be correct. Saying bionic yes may mean mechanical and hydraulics may mean mechanical and implanted may mean he has some kind of implant. The implants have been known as bionic for longer than this site has been around. Trying to change it now I believe would be a mistake. Again this is only my opinion but bionic sounds stronger better implanted sounds broken not 100%. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I think it goes back to the TV show "Million Dollar Man", or probably even further.

My objection to the "bionic" goes no further than the confines of my own mind and I seek to impose it on NO ONE. Besides, I do love alliteration, as I said before. "Bionic Brotherhood" does roll off the tongue rather well.

(apology to fedex, this was their slogan back in the day --- it was "when it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight")

For your entertainment, I mad the t shirt and had my girlfriend model this for you, I think you all agree that there are indeed situations "when it absolutely positively has to be there tonight", and the beauty of the implant is that we know that we can make that girl very happy by keeping that guarantee with confidence, bravado and panache. !

Hello again to all. The t- shirt idea was a great idea. We still need to work with each other to make it a reality. Just because we have different ideas and opinions doesn't mean let it die. The different ideas and opinions is a good thing. Look at all ideas front to back and save the good and save the bad for review and let the real bad go. There is so many possibilities we could have a new shirt several times a year. Remember we all have good ideas and bad. Also I was think some of the ideas that were rejected for t-shirts may make fantastic bumper stickers.

These came to mind last night:

Taking tryouts tonight
Bring your own tape measure

I don't do one night stands
I do tryouts

Originally, I used the word "auditions" instead of "tryouts", but upon further consideration, with the notoriety of Hollywood's "Casting Couch", the word "Audition" might bring about traumatic memories.

Cyborg /ˈsīˌbôrɡ/ Noun Person whose physical abilities are extended beyond normal human limitations by mechanical elements built into the body.

Cyborg Sex, Anyone?

Or, simply "Cyborg Cock" or "Cyborg Sex Machine"

Nope. Though it might go there, too, that is a great slogan for a T-shirt or a bumper sticker.
