AMS MS pump question

Postby Lunatech » Mon Mar 11, 2019 2:31 pm

I just recently had an AMS 700 LGX "installed" and my first post-op appt with the Dr is on 3/22 so I'm not cycling yet. I have a question for you guys that have the MS type pump. When you inflate and get the "click" from the valve switching positions, does the valve stick out more on the block than it does when after you push it in to deflate. I can find the area on the block that I think the valve is but it's not really clear feeling it. I was sent home deflated and was just wondering if it protruded more after it clicked to inflate position so you can feel it better for deflate.

It stays the same. Try feeling for it in a hot bath.

Thanks guys for the answer. I'm still swollen a little and incision area is still tender so it will all fall into place in time. Just a little anxious and having fun exploring the new hardware.

I pretty much always have to push and hold the deflate button for 4 seconds before inflating.
When it's ready to inflate, I don't get an audible click, but the pump depresses completely the first pump.

Tomas,
I too always push the button before I inflate. Works better for me.

I get an audible click. I had trouble knowing where the deflate button was and was actually squeezing the sides in around the corner from the button. Somehow that activated the deflate but didn't get the click. It wasn't until a few months were I found the correct button. Now everything works fine. You will find at first the valve may stick in the open position and you will be inflating and deflating at the same time. I have found the correct spot to squeeze the bulb to get it to close. The inflate and deflate is a pain in the ass at first but you will get the hang of it. Patience.

One day you will be giving advise to others on here and laugh and say "yep I experienced that too". relax kemosabe you will get used to your new tool in due time.

hello, I have the AMS 700 LGX also. I have had it since October 2018. when I deflate it there is a small click, the pump body does vibrates with a little squeal until it is deflated. I like to feel the squeal , that assures me that all is ok. sometime I can tell if the pump bulb is difficult to pump, I start over, you will learn how your pump works. pm message if you have any question or concerns, always here to help others
