And you recovered your mind and positive relationship with sex?

Yes 100 percent.

That gives me so much hope. Thank you.

Defiant,
we've all had the ED blues at one time or another. When I thought it was psychological I was exactly in your shoes. The only possible difference what let me believe then an implant would make a big difference is that I could still masturbate. If you're still able to have an ejaculation then the implant will take care of the hard part that is the getting hard part. If you can't masturbate and have an ejaculation there may be something else going on.

Defiant, please allow me to give a different point of view.
1: Just because testing can't find the problem doesn't mean that there isn't a legitimate problem.
2: The only people that "need to see a problem" is your insurance company. They don't want to pay for something they can't "see".
3: Don't beat yourself up over the lack of a "problem". That is self defeating to yourself & it'll ruin your mind. Don't let ed win.
I realize that self paying is a huge mountain to move. But if you look at it, it's not impossible with good planning & some time.
My wife needed a sugery that our insurance didn't agree with. They finally offered coverage to us but at a higher co-pay. That put it within reach. Shake their tree every which way you can while you stock pile money. Try changing plans, get rid of an extra car, postpone a newer or fancier car purchase. You can overcome this. Best of luck to you.

I have struggled since 2005 I went through the same thing is it mental is it physical. Mine was physical and trust me it becomes mental to. So after 13 years I just decided I could not deal with this any longer. You don’t really know if it’s physical or mental and in the end it does not matter. It does not work period. So resolve it ! I have mine May 10th and I’m still scared and second guessing

Totally agree guys. Until my dick just falls off completely I will always be grateful for my implant even with the unnecessary problems I've had. ED is so very much worse. Words cannot describe. Defiant a year from now you will be pumping up at night playing with yourself JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN.
Rob, at some point you just have to let go the chips will fall and with that you have something to work with. Now a limp noodle is game over. Each and every time. Your Doctor does not need to be perfect just good enough to get it in and going. Then you can work toward your goal. Look at Larry. Look at Mav, Wes , me and many others. Guess what we all have in common? We are in the game for good. And lovin every minute.

Defiant, I advise you to not worry about that. Not at all. Even if your sexual experiences change character (mine did, as I describe below), the enjoyment is still there. Just different, but still as (or more) enjoyable than before.

I used to orgasm easily (and far to quickly to truly please mo lover). Now, post-implant, I take much longer (sometimes 20 minutes or so) and sometimes never orgasm at all (maybe 20% of the time).

Aside: That 20% is to be decreasing over time. I suspect some nerve damage that is healing. I so not detect any decrease in sensation, though, so infer that the nerves that control orgasm are the ones recovering from the trauma of surgery.)

I do not mind one bit when I do not have an orgasm.

My girlfriend minds. She like the validation of my orgasm and tells me she can feel my glans pulsing inside her and that often brings her another orgasm.

I used to really enjoy fellatio much more than I do after implant. My girlfriend was able to give me an orgasm for the first time orally after more than 6 months of being together. She adores oral and wants to do me every time we are together.

So, when you ask, what's the point if I can't cum, I respond that the connection you establish with your partner is the point. Orgasms are the gravy. The meat is the relationship.

Having said that, HER orgasms have always been more important to me than my own, even before E.D. put me on the sidelines.

So, even if I never orgasm again, the implant is a blessing to my sex life and my life in general.

Having said that, getting an implant is unlikely to leave you with permanent (or even temporary) anorgasmia.

That reminded me of the cliché that a man going through a mid-life crisis (which is often triggered by declining sexual function) that he buys a sports car or muscle car.

I thought about the choice between buying a fancy car or buying a penile implant. They cost about the same and have about the same service life. :D

Lost Sheep, I put the cash price of an implant at $20k. Just a rough ballpark guess. I challenge you to get a nice new car in that price range. Plus you'll need to buy insurance & pay your state for licence plates. As of right now, neither of those are required for an implant. I guess that you could make the argument that some type of liability insurance might be needed in case you hurt some woman that you used that baseball bat on. Hey, it's worth a snicker.
Btw, I've had the muscle car since 1975. Can't blame that purchase on the ed.
