Penoscrotal scar

Postby Bbob52 » Thu Feb 14, 2019 9:13 pm

I know they can do either a vertical or horizontal incision for penoscrotal. For you guys who have had a horizontal penoscrotal incision, how visible or noticeable is the scar. Would a girl notice?

Edit: Never mind. I wrote this with the misconception that penostrotal was suprapubic. Completely off-base.

A hysterectomy leaves a scar like that, sometimes. :) A woman might be able to relate.

Seriously, I think most women would have their curiosity allayed by just referring to an unspeciied abdominal surgery.

I imagine that if a woman has allowed a sexusl encounter to get to where she sees such a scar, she is not goig to be interested in details of how yoi got it. On the other hand a good story might be fun. Depending on the woman, "It was a Taliban fighter in Kabul, got me with a janbia" or "Prison riot."

Or maybe the unvarnished truth.

I had a horizontal penoscrotal incision. By the 3 month point the scar had almost completely disappeared. Now at the 9 month point I can just see a very faint silvery fine line where the incision was made but I do not think a partner would ever be able to notice it.

Bbob: I too had a horizontal penoscrotal incision. By six weeks it was visible but fading. by four months, it was unnoticeable. Now after three years, if I really look for it, I think I can see it but I really have to search.

Why would a physician use a horizontal incision, rather than a vertical incision along the nature seam of the scrotum?
60 yrs old. Gradually worsening ED for 10 years. Pills and trimix not working well anymore. Will need an implant in the near future.

A vertical incision decreases the distance between the implanted pump and the wound, which could affect scar tissue formation and increase infection possibilities. By separating them a cm or so, it decreases the risk of scar tissue connecting one to the other in odd ways.

I had talked with the Dr about a penoscrotal incision, all the time thinking it would be midline vertical. Well I woke up with a 3 inch horizontal incision. The stitching looked pretty ruff. I had a 3/8 inch ridge! It pulled a lot of skin tight until the stitching relaxed. At 3 months it was still raised and tight, made pumping difficult. 12 months all is good! Someone would have to be very close to see the scar. I figured if they're that close they can see or feel the pump and we are beyond caring!
