Titan Coloplast Implant vs. Prostate Radiation Treatment

Anyone have any experience with the affect, if any, on an implant?
67 year old implanted with 22 cm + extenders Titan Coloplast in 2013. Facing prostate robotic prostate removal on January 15, 2019. Am told that it will be nerve sparing hope that I will still have feeling . Gleeson 7; 4+3

No experience myself, but I am 100% confident that your radiologist will say without reservation that radiation treatment will have no effect whatsoever on the implant.

Radiation is supposed to kill off cancer cells (which, by their nature, are more susceptible to radiation than normal cells) and leave the other living cells much less affected. Radiation (at the levels used in therapy) has almost no ability to affect non-living materials.

I believe there may be some chance of ionizing induced polymerization of the implant material. I would contact Coloplast and ask them.
1950. Implanted November 1st 2017 by Dr Andrew Kramer with Titian 22cm + 2cm RTE. Pump relocated and replace with Classic pump Jan. 24th, 2018. Pump failure 12/18, Replaced 2/13/19 by Dr Kramer. Revision by Dr Clavell, Feb 28, 2024.
