Ice the first week lay flat take the pain meds and if the catheter is a real problem do like I did talk to Dr Eid and take it out as soon as he says it’s ok I had my surgery on Friday took
Out the catheter on Sunday am what a relief. Keep the faith in a few days you’ll be in a bath tub cycling and in three weeks you’ll be using it the first days take a long time to go by after a week it starts to speed up.

Thanks Dave. I appreciate everyone's support. Catheter supposed to come out fri. Maybe I'll talk to Eid about thursday. Any major risks with taking out one day early?

Mine was in less than 24 hours. Surgery in the morning. Catheter out the next day (not sure exactly what time - could have been more than 24 hours). But I spent overnight in the hospital and a medical professional took it out.

I suppose every surgeon likes different levels of caution and it could be observations during surgery suggested different post-op care instructions.

Glad to hear you are able to type, at least. (Pecking at the keyboard? But not with your pecker.)

Yea, both times I had a catheter it was taken out in less than 24 hours. The only condition was that I had to pee out 200cc to prove that my bladder etc. was in good working order. :)

You would first need a 10cc syringe. There is a small balloon at the end of the catheter (in the bladder to prevent it from accidentally pulling out. You would need to suck out the air in the catheter and then just pull it straight out. :)
