FYI.. I had a revision implant installing a Titan to replace LGX. Done by Dr Hellstrum head of Urology at Tulane Med. Stayed one overnight. Total cost:
Billing before discounts approximately $110,000
Billing to my insurer Humana Gold approximately $11,000.
My copay $200
Includes everything.. the surgery, the hospital, the implant device, hospitalization.
Comment. I do not know what Tulane would charge as a cash price if not insurance. Possibly the same as the insurance company negotiated price? I doubt it. But if Tulane is willing to accept the $11,000 maybe a hard negotiator an get them to take the same price in caah paid up front. Bottom line Eids gets about twice what Hellstrum gets. Hellstrum hhad been doing this for 35 years. Averages about 150 to 200 a year. Says he has done about 5,000. Probably more than Eids, Krammer if for no other reason than he has been at it longer. I would guess that Eids, Krammer are doing more implants every year than Hellstrum now. Eids, Krammer are very good at marketing. Hellstrum does not promote his skills. When I told him that I would recommend him, he seemed to shrug it off. He does all of the urological procedures.. not just implants. He is not overtly seem interested in increasing his volume. I am jut guessing. BTW.. nothing wrong with good marketing. And I like Eids and Kramer's accessibility.

Oh.. Hellstrum says that does about the same number of AMS as Coloplast. Does not seem to be married to one type or vendor. I liked that
