Another wonky pump

Postby wallyworld » Sat Dec 15, 2018 4:11 pm

Something is awry with my pump. Up till today I pump 10 moderately hard to squeeze pumps, then 4 quick partials, wait 2 minutes, then try for 2 more full pumps then 4 more partials. Result was a rock hard, moderately uncomfortable erection. Well, today, the bulb, after popping, was soft and i didn't get much of an erection. Tried again standing up (versus sitting) and still no go. Went out to the car (was leaving health club) and it started working. Okay, just a glitch.

Tried a few minutes ago and something ain't right. Started pumping and halfway through I got a soft bulb and my erection was flexible, not hard. Pressed the release and tried again. Same result but this time it felt as if my erection got a little softer too. Starting getting an erection and then the bulb went soft and so did my erection. Release and started over and got it to work. Got my dick uncomfortably hard and the bulb is still nice and solid. Just like it always behaved since activation a few weeks ago.

What gives? Got that old performance anxiety thing back in a nano-second. Thought that was gone for good. Going to give it a few more days before I contact Jamie at AMS and my Doc. Any thoughts? Typical? Atypical? Pretty simple operation but possible I'm doing something incorrectly? Been doing it for two weeks now with zero problems. Normal operation for me is that the first pump "clicks" a valve and I have a nice solid bulb for my entire routine of 10 full, 4 partial, hopefully 2 more full then 4 partial. Releasing has a tangible buzzing sound.

Sounds like a sticky check valve. Keep cycling and Pray it gets better.. They are a little glitchy at first, then they start working smooth every time. Good Luck. Nobody wants a factory defect.

I agree with oldbeek. These pumps can be glitchy at first. Keep on pumping.

Well mine failed. It will be replaced Jan 11, 2019. Hope that is all that went bad, if not it will require a complete revision which I really do not want. But the MS pump is a piece of trash as far as I am concerned. I do not know what type I had on the first implant, but it lasted 15 years. The MS started giving problems from the start until it failed twenty months later. But being a mechanical engineer I am almost positive it is the check valve that got stuck in the open position on mine. Jamie told me they could change the valve only since it had been less then five years since my latest implant. I feel like telling the specialists to go with coloplast, but I was real happy with the LGX cylinders and how they expand like a natural erection. But the pump is something else.
Hope yours stays working right. It is suppose to be a really good and improved pump, but that was not the case with mine.

I would go ahead and contact your doctor and AMS to get it documented. You can follow the AMS dvd in your AMS packet. Try squeezing the ends of the pump block and I remember something about pulling out, down, and first one side then the other on your penis. There are other procedures for the pump that Jamie has that is not in the DVD but it depends on the problems you have. She can give you that over the phone if you doctor is not able to help. Then you can decide on a plan. I have trouble with mine but have decided to wait until it completely fails before having another surgery. That old feeling of failure is really difficult to go through again after having the courage to have the surgery and going through all it requires. Many of these problems can be resolved completely without a reoperation. And if not it really helps by posting like you have to get the information out about problems. Not only to those on this site but with AMS. Please let us know how this works out. Best of luck going forward with this.

Mine had air in the system, she told me how to bleed it and it seems to be working now.

Give AMS a call. Jamie can talk you through resetting the pump and that may fix it. :)

I agree that the MS pump is a real disservice to an otherwise great product. That engineer needs to be fired. Don't know why they changed from great to total disaster. Just had one replaced after 4 months of pure he!!. Now this one is worse yet. Have not given up completely but I did beg for a Titan pump with my LGX. No. Oh well I tried. It's almost enough for me to switch to a Titan in June. If this crap keeps up I will just for a good workable pump.

Man that sucks big time. I hated the pump on the AMS I had installed Jan 13th, 2015. Total piece of shit. This crap of keep trying, it will eventually wear in, loosen up, and work is garbage. I've said it before, if it was an auto this unreliable, it would be recalled and some people pay as much as a fine BMW or Mercedes to get these damnable things installed. Sometimes I wonder if they should add a lubricant to the saline fill to help get the poor design or sloppy workmanship of ill fitted parts to work easier. I'd say cheers but nothing cheerful about broken down junk.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.
