Problems with AMS MS pump

On my revision they installed with the AMS 700 LGX a MS pump. I had been having problems with it from the start, but I figured maybe it was just a new type of check valve that would stick in the open position at times and it took several attempts before I would feel something click into place and it would start working again. Well it finally failed to where it does not check and the valve just stays in the open position and will not inflate the cylinders. Called the urologist that done the surgery and made an appointment to see him on Nov.6, 2018.
My question is can they just replace the defective MS pump? It has only been around eighteen months since I had my revision.

Yes, it is possible to replace only the pump.
You or your Urologist maybe able to reset the pump.
Try squeezing the side grip blocks towards the center very firmly.

《《Make sure your first compression to activate is a sharp firm one. You may hear a Pop sound.
or call Jamie an AMS representative @ 1-800-328-3881 for further instructions.

X-celent advise. I had hanging problems when the pump was new. Squeezing ends of block fixed it for me.

I'm pretty sure they can just change the pump. Before your surgery you should contact Jamie at AMS. She has been working with urology for over 20 years. She know that pump better than anyone I know and MAY be able to talk you through a fix so you don't have to have surgery and then heal all over again. I have told several people to contact her and those who have done so, she has helped. Good luck.

Mine acted up at the begining. I reset by squeezing sides of the block. Pumps are rigid and tempermental until they break in. Mine has been fine ever since !

A follow up:
I went to see my specialist that done the surgery on my revision. He checked the MS pump and said that it was not working. I asked if he could just change the MS pump only instead of having a complete revision again, after all it had been installed only 22 months ago. He said yes he would try changing out the pump first and if that was the problem recovery should be quick, but he also said that if it was something else THEN he would have no choice but to continue to change everything out. He also said that AMS prefer to change the whole thing, but he understood that if it was just the pump that is what he would do.
I called Jamie on the phone and she told me it would not be any problem with just changing out the pump. She said that if it was over five years then they prefer giving a complete revision.
So I am now waiting for the insurance to approve the surgery and see what happens. I probably will not schedule until after the holidays for the surgery.
Thanks for the information and phone number of Jamie the AMS spoke person.
