How many months should one do traction and VED (pre-op to maximize results)

How many minutes/hours a day do we believe is optimal for pre-op Traction/VED? And for how many months should one do this, pre-op. Peyronies and subsequent TRIMIX injecting has left me with alot of scar tissue and some loss of length. I would like to give myself the best chance for regaining and/or maximizing results when I do the implant. I do VED 7 minutes a day and traction about 40 minutes a day. I have already noticed that the plaque gets less dense/hard and gets more mushier after traction (which I am hoping is good).

Also: Does anyone have a good “rule of thumb” on when traction or VED could be doing damage? Thanks everyone.

So, I did penile traction. I can’t speak for the VED. If you want to increase length with the traction, ya gotta step up your game. In all the studies on pencils traction they say a MINIMUM of 4 hours a day it should be worn 5 days a week. I wore it at least 3 hours a day. I tried to aim for 4 but that was tough. It gave me close to an inch though. My peyronies left me much smaller than I was. To the point where I didn’t even consider an implant. But after 6 months of using it, I was at a viable length for implant.

Regarding VED only, I was told on for 5 minutes, 3 to 5 times a day. :)

So to amalgamate these 2 posts, the protocol would be 6 months of 20 hour per week traction (5X4) and 175 minutes per week VED (5X5X7) . That seems like alot of months.

Today I searched and read alot of posts regarding traction/VED as a pre-op protocol, and I noticed a theme. A number of doctors think it makes no difference and a number of patients swear by it. It occurred to me that in any individual case neither doctor nor patient could know what the results would have been with/without the traction/VED. Is it a feeling in the community that more traction/VED guys are "in general" more satisfied with "length preservation" than the folks who skip doing this?

Really sorry to keep "beating a dead horse" here, but I've put this off way to long, and although I can certainly wait a few more months if the traction/VED is the proper way to go about this.....I wouldn't want to wait if i didn't have to.

I think the answer lies with what you deem usable. I shrunk so much from Peyronies that I couldn’t fathom having an implant. Traction got me back in the game. If you are satisfied with your length and feel you can satisfy your significant other, then that’s enough. Gone are the days of my worrying about a quarter inch or a half inch. It’s just a number. Can you use it and can you satisfy? Those are the key components not size.

Here is one randomized control study that showed length improve by of VED daily for a month over those without VED. Also, made surgery less difficult.
VED for10-15 mIn/day with .44cm gain in length

Another article summarizes another study that showed increase in 1.5 cm length preceding implant following daily traction of 2-4 hours for 2-4 months

Here is the only rule of thumb: How long do you want to be after implant? When you reach that point then have your surgery. If you don't recover loss before implant you will not get it back. In fact your struggle will be to recover what you had gained before your implant because you will lose that due to the trauma of the surgery. But with effort and luck you should be able to regain what you took to the surgical table. Good luck!

thank you everyone. ......DougAnd: your analysis makes perfect sense.
