X ray with implant

Postby ED2013 » Fri Oct 26, 2018 3:22 pm

Hey guys I’m wondering if there are any precautions to take when getting an X-ray with an ams 700 implant. I’ve had an mri before as ordered by my doc but not a regular x ray. I did a search here and didn’t find much. I’m waiting for a return call from the patient liaison.

What about going through the machine at the airport. Anyone have issue with that?

I went on a cruise in February, 2 months after my implant... I had no problems with airport security nor the many times I went through the scanner on the ship. Just in case though, carry the card (or paper) they gave you and if they didn't, ask for one. It has all the details of every piece of equipment they placed in you (size, make, model, serial number, etc) :)

Thanks for the replies guys. Just heard back from ams patient liaison. No issues at all with an x ray. She did say there are precautions to follow when having a ct scan or mri. I didn’t inquire further about those. Customer service was good. Left a message and they returned my call within an hour. 800 328 3881

Yea, she is really good and smart. She has been working with male sexual issues for over 20 years.

I am having a CT scan next week. I just called Jamie and she said there are considerations to take for a MRI, but none for a CT scan even with contrast. I am having a CT scan to find out where my wondering reservoir is.

I have had no problem with X-rays, CT scans, or MRI because of my implant.
