This is a surgery, that as Merrix pointed out, really does require the skill of a highly-skilled surgeon or the best if you can afford them and so I refuse to let standard urologists perform this procedure on me, just because it'll be free. So, what kind of cost implications can I realistically expect should I live a full life? I'm 34 now.
Assuming I get my virgin implant done by Andrew Kramer, this will cost $24k all in.
Then come the factors no one can predict, lifespan of implant, new models or technology being released and so on.
One thing is for sure, with the mental fog and emotional minefield that is ED, lifted - I will be giving every ounce of effort to my career going forward.

Dr Karpman is about 20k. Both ams and coloplast have lifetime warranties. When you need a revision, you will pay less. The cost of the device is subtracted. Right now ballpark cost of the device only is around 8k
