Why does my new Titan back fill?

Does anybody have experience with backfilling of a Titan?

Background.. Revision with Titan almost 8 weeks ago. Doctor used my existing AMS reservoir instead of installing a new Titan reservoir. The AMS reservoir does not have a lock out mechanism, although the Titan reservoir does. Op notes stated that doctor evaluated that the AMS reservoir was not encapsulated and had the original 100 ML capacity. A scrotoplasty was also done that probably contributed to swelling of my scrotum.

My problem: I can inflate successfully, but deflation is difficult but possible When I do find the deflate button on the Titan I can deflate somewhat. Although the Coloplast instructions for deflation say that I have two choices.. Either just depress the button and deflation will occur more slowly or I can depress the button and release and then gently squeeze my penis to hurry up the deflation. In my case simply depressing the deflation button does nothing. I have to squeeze aggressively to get some deflation. By holding the deflation button AND squeezing hard I can deflate maybe 50%.. Just a guess. I am able to fold the penis somewhat. I have not been able to get substantial deflation. My penis goes from the 3 o'clock position to the 4:30 angle, I can feel the partial softening of the cylinders. They remain hard enough to fuck but I can live with this if I can accept the discomfort of a partial erect penis held in place by tight briefs.

BUT when I lie on my side (e.g. going to sleep) auto filling takes place to the extent that I feel the pressure on my tunica girth wise and my glans length wise. It is similar to what I experience from a pump to the max. This wakes me up with discomfort. To make matters worse When I try to deflate I often fail probably due to the swelling. So my deflation effort was wasted and I am back to pumped up dick with the accompanying pain/discomfort from pressure on the tunica and glans.

So why the back filling? These are my choices.. Do you know of other possibilities?
1. The reservoir is at capacity and is pushing the fluid back to the penis
2. The lock out pin in the Titan pump somehow changes back to a pump mode
3. My remaining swelling is somehow causing this.
4. My doctor left too much fluid in the cylinders with the intent to prevent the dog ears the Titan is known for, In short I have too much saline for the reservoir to hold.
5. Maybe I still have some natural erection blood supply. This would not account for expansion of the Titan cylinders, but it could put pressure on the tunica.

Restated… I HAVE NO CLUE.

What do you think is going on?
Will this problem resolved itself over time?

you're not the first guy to complain about his Titan pump auto filling. I don't think he had figured it out last post. As I recall when he sat down at times it would squeeze his pump and auto fill. Look on your surgical notes to see how much fluid they put in. Very rarely like never do they fill it to 100cc. My 100 cc reservoir has 80cc fluid. since it has been in for a long time not body reactions squeezing the sac. good luck

I still get natural semi erections at night, morning, and sometimes during the day. At first I thought it was auto fill too, but when the semis would go back down on their own I realized that it must be natural. I use to get erections like that all of the time before my implant, problem was, I couldn't keep them when I needed them  .

Hey there MyImplant.

I think I could give you a pretty good idea of what is happening, but recently the boss of the site has been running a campaign to make it clear that this is a support site, not an information site.
Members are encouraged to not give information, but support.

So, dear MyImplant. Don't worry. I am sure it will be ok. Implants are great. Especially AMS implanted by low volume local doctors. Next time, maybe that's what you should get. Don't worry about the problems you have. If you have questions to ask, contact your doctor. Just be strong. We are here to support you. All your brothers think of you and pray for you. Amen.

Good morning Merrix, while it is VERY true that this is a support site, there is nothing wrong with sharing info passed on from a doctor. For example, people ask if they can cycle AND use the VED. Yes they can. My doctor and another surgeon wrote a study paper on this. I guess what I am saying is that it needs to be clear that this is my opinion or what worked for me, vs the info passed on by a surgeon. If I have not made that clear, please tell me... I know what I am saying but I may not be getting it across very good. We just don't want someone following homemade advice and causing permanent damage... I would be mortified if I caused that. I just think that patients need to know one way or the other. Since becoming Moderator, in an effort to get answers to some questions asked on here, I have had conversations with Reps from Coloplast and AMS and spoken with Dr. Eid, Dr. Brock and Dr. Woods as well, I have had PM conversations with some of our members who have had both brands. When I pass the info on to everyone, I say, "according to _________" :)

Here you go again with your doctor wrote a paper on VED USE some doctors don’t agree but if it’s your guy it’s the gospel. If someone mentions their doctor you don’t like it. You need to let others make up their minds we are all big boys

I have a Titan that was implanted 6 months ago. My penis is semi hard a good bit of the time. I had a MRI done when penis was semi erect and it showed the cylinders to be empty. No back flow. The semi erections is a problem, trying to hide a 7 inch dick, but the bigger problem is pain and pressure. My dick hurts most of the time and keeps me up at night.

The problem has been identified. The Titian cylinders are stimulating my corpus cavernous causing my semi erection. I was put on a medication that help for about a month. Now I am back to semi hard all the time. Going to have a revision next month to help with the problem. The implant was put in correctly. I have a great erect dick when pumped up. The problem is how my body reacted to the implant.

Going to have my original doctor take care of the issue.

Back to the OP's question....three Titans in, I still have the occasional backfill. It's much rarer than it was and is never really a problem. I don't have a "why". The "problems" that seem so critical early in the healing process seem to either resolve themselves or simply become less "worrisome" as you heal, use your implant and move on......

As for "information"....I thought that was what we were sharing in this forum...Information and personal experiences. If I'd learned of this
board one month earlier, I might only be on my second Titan, and possibly even my first. And while my second and third implants went much more smoothly than the first, I still think it's months and months for all the swelling and nerve "disruption" to settle down to your "new normal". Be patient, use your new dick, let time heal you.....

Good luck...

What part about carrying on rants in private is unclear? "Big boys" can read the paper and choose to follow or ignore. I have NEVER said that anyone should not follow the advice of the doctors. As a matter of fact, a couple of weeks ago I have a conversation with doctor Eid and shared that info. This site is to support and assist men with sexual issues, it is not for Negative Nellies to pick people to nitpick at every time they open their mouth.
