Implant in Hawaii?

While I'm not quite ready for an implant I've been looking into who perform the procedure in my area and thus far the closest I see is in California. That would mean a 4.5 hour flight post op. This is not good. Does anybody know of a surgeon in Oahu?

Just wanted to say, I am in KY and have been looking into the same type of issue. Do I try to find someone local, or make an 6-8 hour drive, or 2-3 hour flight somewhere to a doctor somewhere else. You are going to get a lot of different opinions for sure. I will say that my wife went on the coloplast website to find me a Center of Excellence surgery center that was about a 2 hour drive from my house. You could try their website, AMS also does the same type of service. You can also call their customer service reps and see if they can point you in the local direction. I did not have much luck with that. I have been to three local surgeons (within 1.5 hour drive from my house) and did not feel comfortable with any of them. The issue I was having was getting any verifiable information from any of the local doctors. Vague answers about their experience with this type of surgery. Been in this business for years. Very successful practice, etc. No real specifics, and I want specifics. There are lots of helpful comments on here if you are just starting this process. I was lost till I found this site, or I would have just let my local surgeon do the job and hope for the best.

I will add I just went to see my regular doctor today in a follow up for some other issues and let him know what was going on with my peyronies and ED, and prognosis so far was for an implant as my only option. His words to me were. If I were in your shoes, I would find me a surgeon who specializes in this type of surgery and go to them. You want to find one who does this regularly, and in his words, a handful a month is not a good number. No pun intended. Drive, fly, whatever you need to do to find one with a low revision rate and infection rate. If whoever you are talking to will not tell you that. Find another surgeon. This is my regular doctor, who is helping me more with Pentox, traction, and VED advice that my urologist would not even discuss with me. My regular urologist told me, yep looks like you got peyronies, take some vitamin E and see me again in 6 - 9 months. I had to find specialists on my own for this stuff. Sad state of affairs. Good luck in your search and I hope you find a local doctor you feel comfortable with. If not read on here and you will find some who have had success with docs in CA. Again best to you. My choice for a surgeon will be mine as will yours if you have to go forward. Just make sure it is the best choice for you, and not your doctor. I got the impression, they wanted the experience of doing the implants. I could be wrong, but that was my impression. I want someone who does not need the experience, but one who has it.
