AMS CX vs, Titan?

Postby crobin1 » Sat Sep 29, 2018 7:09 am

I am scheduled with Kramer on Nov 14th. A few questions if I amy:

1) The more I read on this blog it appears that most are satisfied with the Titan. It appears to give a harder erection. I would think this might be a draw as I doubt it I pump to rock hard steel....maybe 85%? Thoughts?

2) I am not as concerned about length (if I don't lose much) as girth. Seems the Titan does well in this category...that is what is being promoted.

3) Is ease of use when it comes to pumps the biggest question/challenge? Which one is easier. I just read the Titan only takes 10 pumps...I would think this is as important as the other consideration. Help!

Since most of us only have experience with one brand, it is difficult to answer which is best. I would also warn you when listening to someone who has had both if they had to change due to a problem they will most likely prefer the replacement brand.

Based on your comments I think you may want a Titan for girth. I have an AMS LGX and I am extremely happy. Recently I got together with a guy who had a Titan and he has had some problems and is considering switching to an LGX. He was concerned about the ability of an LGX to get hard based on comments here. After seeing how hard my implant gets he was totally comfortable with it. My wife and I prefer about 80% inflation on my LGX. He and I both touched the other and to be honest at full inflation they felt very similar.

My girth has increased in the past year with my implant and was already thicker immediately after receiving the implant. I do know the Titan cylinders are thicker so you definitely would get more with that brand, but my doctor told me after my surgery he was happy we had mutually decided on an LGX because the cylinders suited my anatomy better. My girth is 5.5” so it would seem I could accommodate a Titan, but that is what he said.

I believe if your penis is large you will be happier with a Titan and if smaller or average either brand is good.

Your priorities make you seem like a candidate for a Titan. While true that a Titan has more girth potential, if you are well within the potential of an LGX then that probably makes little difference. For example, if you have a 4 1/2 inch girth you will likely end up the same girth with either implant.

The LGX ill give you a smaller deflated penis. I am 6.5 " and find the deflated Titan very manageable at 7 weeks and getting softer every week.

The Titan does come in 2 cm increments vs 4 cm for the LGX. Depending on your internal and external size a Titan might reduce the need for RTE's and it does have more rigidity. This becomes an issue mostly at lengths of 7" or beyond or in patients with any fibrosis or curve.

Both brands are quality products and ultimately having a very skilled, experienced surgeon will always be a bigger factor than the implant model in my opinion. You have two surgeons in your signature that you cannot go wrong with.

I have the Titan and am very happy with it, even though I lost an inch in girth, went from 6.5" to 5.5", have no clue why. My length is nearly the same at 5.5" bone press. From fully flaccid, it takes me about 10 - 12 pumps to get a full hard erection, at that point it will not pump any more. Most of the time I keep about 3 pumps in my "flaccid" dick, like the feel of it. You will be very happy with ether one I'm sure.

I have a 22cm Titan. I have never done "wall to wall" pumps where the two sides of the pump touch each other but my implant takes what I would call 25 full pumps and another 5 or 6 partial pumps to max out. I have no doubt I could manage to have sex with 10 pumps but there would be no point. I am married but if I were single, I could put 10 pumps in it and still tuck a partially erect penis in my pants.

One factor in my decision was the Titan's smaller pump. Without any doubt whatsoever. The pump is the major if not the only drawback to a 3 piece implant. If I could have found an even smaller pump I would have. Not only is the AMS pump bigger, but I was put off by what seemed like its lack of anything resembling a natural profile. It has that square block that you look at and intuitively realizes at a glance is nothing that resembles a natural body part. The Titan pump is nothing to brag about but it is smaller and looks like a more bio-compatible design.

I have an AMS CX. Given severe peyronies it seems only that or the Titan are the options. I would have gone w the Titan, but my doc prefers the AMS products so I went w that given I believe he’s one of the best high volume docs on the west coast and I didn’t need to travel. Given your needs I’d agree with hawkman you’d probably be happier w the Titan-but ultimately its the doc thats most important. Also, given the option I’d go w Dr Eid who does everything possible to eliminate RTE’s. You’ll do great whichever you choose.

I agree with Greg that perhaps I like the LGX better than the Titan because I had problems with the Titan. If you have a large dick, a lot of girth, or Peyronies, then the Titan is the way to go. But, for normal sized guys (like me), the LGX is much better. My implanted dick is now almost like my original. And, forget all that "It gets harder in the hard state." talk. You can pump an LGX up till its rock hard. So, that's not an advantage for the Titan. But the "It's softer in the softer state." actually IS an advantage of the LGX. The Titan doesn't expand or shrink (although it does wrinkle and fold some) - so mine was never really flaccid. It was big and long - even when flaccid. The LGX DOES shrink and go limp when flaccid. Again, it's almost like my original. I did like the Titan pump better. But, the LGX is easier to deflate. The big deflate button is easier to find and it deflates with just one squeeze. No need to hold the button down with one hand while squeezing my dick with my other hand, as my Titan required. And if the pump is hidden back behind your balls, then the clunkier pump doesn't matter. I can't tell much difference in the number of pumps required. One last little thing. My wife told me she's so glad I changed it. She said the Titan just didn't feel natural in her hand or mouth and the LGX was a big improvement. And, lastly, everyone's situation is different. For me (just me), I hated my Titan.

Good point Fishing. As someone told me "the most important expectation you should have is a hard dick".
Implanted with Titan 1/15/19 with Dr. Eid.

???? I find that statement totally incredible. I never heard anyone suggest that. My penis could not feel more natural. It makes me wonder if there were issues with your Titan implant like not fully inflating, oversized, undersized, or something.

My Titan did not ever go flaccid. It deflated but it didn't "go down". It just stuck out at about 5:00 when deflated. It had bulges, krinkles and wrinkles when deflated. I even developed a new ring/wrinkle about one third back from the head where it folded up on itself. One thing my wife said she didn't like was that my dick was fatter than the rim of the head. She said that just didn't look right to her (she's a physician). I only had it 8 months and maybe it didn't have time to soften up? I guess it's possible that Kramer didn't do a good job on the install. But Dr. Stephen Wilson was present and observed my surgery. If anyone knows how to install a Titan, it would be Dr. Wilson. He invented some of the tools and procedures. Before my revision, I spent a lot of time inspecting and playing with the actual working models that Dr. Carrion had (Kramer didn't have them). I have photos I took that I could send you. Dr. Carrion's father is one of the original inventors of the penis implant. Dr. Carrion gave me the Titan he removed. I still have it - in a jar in my closet. The LGX is soft and pliable when deflated. And it expands when pumped and shrinks when deflated. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like the Titan pump better. But, the LGX cylinders are FAR better than the Titan. If you have an 8 or 9 inch dick with 6 or more inches of girth, then the Titan may be best for you. But for all of us 6 or 7 inchers with less than 6 inches of girth, the LGX is a MUCH better product. I had them both - and that's my opinion.
