Before implant surgery do this

Postby DougAnd » Thu Sep 20, 2018 7:40 am

The medical community claims that the actual loss of length from a penile implant on the average is less than 1/16". Yet every patient complains from loss of erect length. Do yourself and all of us a huge favor. Before surgery take a clear plastic foot long ruler, stand up and push it firmly against your pubic bone (between your fat pad and penis) stretch yourself straight out using the ruler for extra leverage and measure yourself. Then compare that to 6 weeks post surgery and let us know what you find. As more people confirm that indeed their loss was less than 1/16" those who are seeking implants will have their minds put to rest. Let's myth bust this urban legend of length loss with cold hard facts! (pun intended)

I agree with everything in your post except this quote above. As the founder and administrator of the largest Peyronies Disease forum on the internet, I was very familiar with my penis size but I took very specific, objective, measurements 1 day prior to surgery. I repeated those measurement 3 times for accurate confirmation and included markings inside of a clear VED tube. I lost no length and gained very slightly in girth.
Prostatectomy 2004-Bimix caused Peyronies-Viagra had little effect. Active sex life with wife of 50 yrs- been dependent on a VED for 10 yrs. 22cm Titan w/Dr. Eid Aug 7th See my Implant Journal -> http://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/board,56.0.html

And check the measurements again after a year of cycling.

1) I have my vacuum cylinder marked and have used those for a gauge for 18 years. I know what mark it goes to at the beginning and what it was at the end well knowing that the stretched point would not be the same as the full vacuum but where it would be.
2) I was what I call a 2 stage grower. It would grow, then in a few minutes again. It never mattered pulling by hand or in a cylinder. A couple others here over the years tell me they are the same way. Most doctors I talked to deny there is such a thing. Tell them just watch and I will prove it and they say they have more patients and not enough time so they are not going to stretch you and wait for the second spurt.
3) Douglas Milam remarked right before walking through the door to the surgery hall, "now I am going to make your penis shorter". He made the same comment to DonBecker who also posted about his experience on FT the next day. Both of us had much loss of size.
4) Upon revission, Dr. Kramer changed me out from a 21cm AMS to a 22cm + 1.5 cm tip extender. 2.5 cm difference or almost an inch.
5) Arnold Bullock, head of the department of urology at Wash.U. School of Medicine told me he did not care if I kept a 200°towel on it before surgery and it is 10" long when I go in and only 3 when I come out, all he cares about is that 3" will get hard. He has a reputation in St. Louis for that attitude, the very basis why some FT members that pop in here sometimes went to the east coast (the closest one by 1,000 miles) and had their implants done there.
6) Too many times I have read here on the forums some of you guys claim that it takes 6 months to 2 years to regain your size with a Boston Scientific purchased AMS design. In that case, the Coloplast measure group and the BS group need to be separate and we need long range information for the BS'rs just to make it a quality study. The Coloplast group should vary little from healed using to months or years out.

To blanket say that no-one will lose size is irresponsible. Some will, some won't, some doctors do not give a damn. Bottom line, do your research, chose your doctor well. Every doctor has their first patient, but the doctor that takes pride in his work and wants his reputation to reflect it is the one you need. Cheers men, be boys and have fun.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

I just want to comment. Two years, 3 months ago, i measured fully erect 7 inches right on the money with a ruler from not pushed all that hard in my pubic bone to the tip. Flaccid I could get an easy 6 inches using the same amount of pressure. Fast forward to now with peyronies and ED for over 2 years and right now, I can get a 6 inch measurement stretched hard, but only if I push hard into the pubic bone with a ruler. Erect, at this time I measure in at around 5.5 inches, so actually less, go figure, again with a wood ruler pushed hard into the pelvic bone. I never had to do that in the past.

I have been on traction for over a month now, but find it difficult to wear for 8 hours a day every day. I do manage about 4 every other day, and have not noticed any more loss. I just got my somaerect and plan on starting that as well this week to see if I can keep my loss from getting worse and maybe get some length back. Not sure I got much stretchy tissue left with this Damn scarring. Either way, I am just biding my time until circumstances line up and I can fix this permanently. With these measurements I have no idea where I will line up after this is finally over. I will be glad to let everyone know, but will probably be next year sometime for me. Unless I find something earth shattering at my next doctor visit, I probably will head off in the spring to Baltimore to get this taken care of.

The only positive thing I can say is my girth is still pretty good, except where the dent is. It might be wishful thinking, but since starting the stretching, I think my dent is smaller. The ED is probably never going away because of the fall, according to docs.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

True enough, any statement with every in it is suspect. Well we all die but other than that. I should have said that the number one complaint by far is loss of length. I'm beginning to think that part of that is from premature expectations. That would be me. But I never want to be 7" again no need for it. ^ is more than fine so I am struggling to make it a little bigger to give me some buffer so to speak. If I don't cycle for say a month it would be good to easily pump up to 6. I know that's vain and it it's less that's ok too. But that is my goal.
