It is silly if people get mad at disagreement but :) Larry is right in one regard. A surgeon cannot promise you that either of you will be alive on the day of surgery or that the hospital will not burn down with you inside.

A skilled surgeon can, however, promise you that he can fill out your existing penis to a stated minimum size just like a surgeon can promise to set your broken let straight after looking at xrays. A skilled high volume implant surgeon can know after thorough doppler exams, stretch tests, inducing erection and extrapolating from doing many thousands of implants that he is not going to encounter a situation for which he cannot compensate with his skill and the many implants he takes in the OR with him. (unless of course, you die of an aneurysm on the table while the hospital is burning down, in which case you will not need your penis.) :)

That is why Dr. Eid who is no F'ing liar "promised" me "at least 6 1/4 inches as a minimum, maybe a little more" and at week 4 I am 6 3/8" dead on the money and larger girth than before surgery. A surgeon that suggests you should just put yourself in his hands and wait to see what you get, is a bad joke.

Since this is my disagreement post of the day I disagree with insisting on an LGX. If you have a skilled high volume surgeon that is intensely interested in your outcome you will not have to explain to him the best implant for your penis. You can share your concerns, your expectations for an outcome, and decide together giving him the decision to act in your best interest in the OR when he gets inside. As Larry pointed out, some things may not be obvious until that point in the process.

The problem with all of this is that there are expectations placed on the patient to ensure a great outcome. The surgeon, regardless of how many implants he does, cannot control the actions of the patient. Also, let's remember, even the super surgeons have a bad day once in a while. Setting a bone straight does not involve other tissue, muscle, ligaments, etc... it is a solid bone that will never change regardless of what you do. We should agree to disagree. :)

I definitely agree that there are occasions when the Titan is the only one that should be considered. Severe Peyronie's for example. But if there is a long time history of ED with size loss, then the LGX is the one that should be considered. In my opinion, doctors who only use one type of implant, are NOT acting in the best interest of the patient, they are probably getting kick backs from whichever company they are dealing with. :)

Well, clearly it was not the Titan that was the disaster. It was your doctor or some other factor. You cannot bad mouth a major successful brand or model of the implant because it did not work for you. That is like me slamming an LGX because I got an infection from one.

If you have an opinion then make a recommendation based on reason, logic, and facts.

Larry my friend,

I want to address your response to my recommendation # 6 that a surgeon should be prepared to give you a minimum length you will end up with after an implant. I know you are passionate about your implant and your surgeon, as I am mine. I appreciate that.

Many high-volume surgeons would simply tell you (I know 2 that will tell you by phone) that the variables you mention, plaque, scar tissue, atrophy are all clearly assessed with a Doppler Ultrasound and exams. The exams tell how far the penis currently can stretch when blood fills the chambers. It is not difficult for a surgeon that has worked several thousand cases (or many fewer) to know if the blood-filled chambers can stretch your penis 6 1/2" then he can appropriately match a filled cylinder that matches that space and exerts a like stretch. This becomes even more easy when they promise a conservative post-op size as a minimum. The amount of stretch of the penis has already been firmly established. Its size is firmly established. The result from filling the chambers is already established. The rest is in reality as little as a 17 - 20-minute procedure except for the disinfecting, closing, etc. All of the very good surgeons have tried and proven methods of dealing with narrowing, and the other mix of issues involved they encounter. Remember most of these are seen before surgery and the amount of penile stretch is clearly known. All they have to do is insert something to stretch it They can assure that they can stretch the penis to near its pre-op induced erection. I think it is pretty disparaging to declare all of these great surgeons that promise and deliver are " F' ing liars" I am sure that was just your rise of passion going a little overboard.

Hawkman I can only speak of my personal experience with the Titan in the 4 weeks I had it.
First, I had noticible loss of not only length but I was surprised how much girth was gone.
Second, the discomfort & pain never got any better. It always felt like the tips of the implant cylinders were going to poke right out the head of the penis. Others I have talked to w/the Titan shared similar experiences with that sensation.
Third, the hospital listed it as “defective” upon removing it & I came down w/an immediate infection which oozed puss and blood for days. Was it defective? I only know what they told me.

Whether its all in my mind or not, I will never let them put in a Titan again & hoping for the AMS option. I appreciate & value your input regarding my post.
Thank you
Scott

I don't necessarily disagree with you BUT, promising length post operatively also depends on the patient following the instructions provided by the surgeon. As soon as results are dependent upon someone or something else following instructions, you can no longer PROMISE anything. For example, if the doctor wants you to cycle twice a day for 30 minutes and you don't do it, now it's no longer the doctors problem and there is a good chance that you will not get the PROMISED length and girth. Or, the patient who just can't be patient, cycling or having sex far too early and causing irreversible tissue or nerve damage. Despite the fact that some surgeons would like to believe that they are god like, the can only make educated guesses based on experience. That, in my opinion, does not constitute a promise.

OK, we can leave it at that! I agree that the promise is contingent that you follow his clear written orders and a few unwritten things like not slamming a car door on your penis. I also agree that some surgeons think they are god-like. Dr. Eid for one is not that. He is a confident, but humble man, that is almost loving in his care and concern. Every promise anyone makes has a few basic assumptions. If a world class speed skater promises he can skate across a small pond without falling down, it supposes that a vehicle will not crash into the pond before or during his attempt. suggesting that it is not a promise if it depends on certain basic expectations would mean there is no such thing as a promise from anyone, about anything, in any area of life. I think we have now reduced our opinions down to semantics. Dr. Eid makes it clear you have to follow orders. He makes it clear that one out of every 280 patients gets an infection. Unlike many, he takes hours with you to make sure you understand the what his "promise is based on". PEACE ;)
