Does unbadaging set you back.

Dr. Eid has his patients unbandage, remove catheter, and lay down in the bath tub. Does removing all the stabilizing bandaging at 3 days cause a temporary increase in pain for a couple days?

Welcome to the club

. I guess it would depend on where the incision is, above or below the penis. Mine was above and included a scrotalplasta, and since the bandage would not stay on I just took it off, had no problems.
Wishing you a speedy recovery with LOTS of fun ahead

While Dr. Eid initially told me he would likely not be able to implant the reservoir through the scrotal incision since I had a laparoscopic prostatectomy. He said they significantly shift the organs during that surgery and do not take the trouble to shift everything back before they exit. He said he would have to make an additional Incision
The day of surgery he said he would try to use his standard scrotal approach for the reservoir since he likes to avoid a second incision (due to increased infection risk).
He was successful so all of mine was done with a verticle scrotal incision.

Bandages prolong healing. Open wounds promote much faster healing and super glue greatly reduces scarring. These docs who still use exterior stitches need to come out of the dark ages and into the light. Earlier this year I sliced the top of my finger down to the bone. The super insisted I go to the ER. I just laughed wrapped it up and went back to work. No way I was going to let those comangen butchers screw it up. No major blood vessels, no tendons, no arteries no problem. Went home after work bled it good to prevent infection.wiped it with alcohol and super glued it then thoroughly soaked it in alcohol. Put a popsicle stick under it for two weeks. Today, a hairline scar and soft as a baby's butt. Those hacks would have given me a hard lumped football stitched nightmare for life. Do not trust idiots no matter what their title.
