Lets be honest you went in to this with I can handle the pain no problem. looking back was the 4 hour car ride so soon the thing that did you in ?

Floppy, very possibly it was too soon. My concern was that if I did not get on the road while I still had residual effects of the spinal block my wife and I would have been stuck in a Manhattan hotel for days. Also Dr Eid and a couple of his patients who lived 2hrs or less away told me I would be fine. All that said, less than 48 hours out, my biggest complaint is my back from laying flat hour after hour and not the surgical pain. I now stand up and bend over the bed and let my wife rub my back for about 5 minutes. That helps a lot, but only for a couple hours. Right now I feel forced to sit up in bed for about 30 minutes. I am counting the minutes until I free my junk from this bandage, and catheter and soak in the tub. That will be a great milestone.

I found that a frozen leg of lamb works best....lasts about 14 hours and then you can make a stew afterwards......
