The first year I had ED I scheduled an appointment with a renowned Urologist who specialized in male sexual dysfunction. He had me lay in the exam table and injected my penis and it got rock hard. Therefore his diagnosis was I had a psychological problem and referred me to a Psychologist. He couldn’t find anything wrong and said my results were inconclusive. It was so frustrating. At that time none of the pills were options. The urologist got me on injections, which were hit or miss and hurt like hell. Over the years I went to many other doctors and each was much more interested in prescribing pills than figuring out what was wrong.

It finally occurred to me I could get an erection while flat on my back and still, but lost it if I rolled over for sex, sat up or stood up. Even morning wood could last a very long time on my back and if I got up it was gone. A few years ago I had to switch doctors due to an insurance change. I finally got one who listened to me and sent me for a Penile Doppler and it showed a 40% Venous Leak. My symptoms had never changed all those years and that test was available years ago so I think it is horrible all the different doctors I saw never ordered it.

You are lucky you are the age you are with the treatments available so you got your issue taken care of. I am glad you smiled about your decision. I had a big smile on my face when I could finally pump to the max and look in a mirror and see myself hard. It had been many years since I had seen that sight because I had to be flat in my back.

This is very interesting to read, Greg.

It seems that you had a decent level of function prior to being implanted. Did you only have the one Doppler?

I find those tests to be very unreliable. I’ve had 4 and the first one diagnosed me with a ‘mild’ VL but these tests don’t take into account the pure stress of the situation. I remember I didn’t react to the drug on the table then went home and had a hard on for 2 hours.

Also; it’s funny what men’s expectations of themselves are. Is it normal for Middle aged men to just be able to retain an erection standing up for more than a few seconds unaided? I don’t know, I’m asking. I certainly wouldn’t be able to; much like I would struggle hugely to get a condom on in time and this is one of the reasons that no matter what my tests say, I just don’t think I’m ‘normal’.

Defiant,
I can answer your comment about me having a decent level of function prior to implant two ways. Yes, I could still get and maintain a good erection if I was flat on my back and very still. It is difficult to enjoy sex when you just lay there and can’t thrust or really participate in any way. My wife could straddle me and we’d have sex, but she had to do all the work and do it cautiously so I didn’t lose my erection. Even masturbation changed, because the typical ways guys jack off were too much movement. So, if by “decent function” you meant could get rock hard, I could right up until surgery when I woke up with morning wood. But it was not very decent in terms of what I could do with my erection.

I don’t know if middle aged men can typically stand and maintain a hard erection for long. I was 30 when ED robbed me of that ability. Back then I could easily keep it up several minutes with no stimulation.

Day 4: making the 9-hour drive back from Atlanta, GA to Little Rock. Been on the road for about 6 hours & no difficulties with riding along. Sitting on a pillow with my feet on the dash which helps a lot. Can not wait to be home in the next 3 hours.

No soreness with my testicles. Main discomfort is a mild soreness in my shaft. I honestly don’t even feel like I had a major surgery on Monday morning.

When is it too soon to try to cycle? I can easily feel the inflate/deflate valves on my pump especially since my ball sack isn’t swollen
Implanted by Dr. Hakky on August 6th, 2018 Coloplast 22 cm. Genesis pump failure 8/17/19. Revision 9/10/2019. Genesis pump failed 2/27/2020 while having sex. Second revision scheduled 4/7/2020 with new Titan One Touch pump instead of Genesis

Day 6 Update: Pretty steady results so far. Been icing & taking my meds as instructed. Still no bruising or much discomfort at all. Eating pretty clean which has probably been the best advice for other recently implanted folks out there. Raw vegetables, no fried foods or a lot of sugars. Been drinking a lot of water as well.

Kinda tempted to cycle the pump, but will probably leave it alone until next week. My incision site is looking pretty clean. Drove to the bank today which didn't cause a lot of discomfort at all.

Back to laying around the house watching TV.

1Roofer,
Great news man! It sounds like you will have a pretty easy go of it like I did. Good for you. Did Hakky advise you on when you could/should start cycling? One thing you do not want to do is irritate your incision area. Also, you mentioned being back to laying around. Did he suggest you get up and move around? My doc wanted me to be upright and walking three times a day for at least ten minutes. I am not talking power walking but just to keep your body moving. I think that helped my recovery.

When you get a chance you may want to update your bio. Later, if you have any questions it can be helpful to the men responding if they can read a current status.

Here's to continued quick healing and great results.

Day 48 Update:

These 48 days have been a journey since being implanted, but in a good way. I honestly do not even feel my rig in my body. It has already settled well.

Cycling has been the most grueling aspect of this journey. It takes a strong discipline to cycle 1-2x/day for 45-1 hour because of the discomfort of the cylinders pressing out inside of the shaft.

I skipped my 2-week follow-up with Dr. Hakky since I live 9 hours away from ATL. inflating/deflating has not been that difficult since i am younger & have good strength & dexterity.

I have just resumed my fitness/working out regimen which has made me feel a lot better.

Length & girth are pretty similar to pre-op & am noticing gains on a daily basis. Glans engorgement, girth & length are more noticeable during coitus with a female. Sex was a bit painful at first, but has gotten easier. I have quite a bit of sensation which is a plus.

I have been with 3 different girls since regaining sexual contact. All had been pretty experienced. None of them have noticed the pump in my sac. My pump sits below one of my personal balls so it seems like i just have 2 testicles. Even 2 of them have completely sucked on the pump without saying anything lol. They love the length, girth & overall hardness. They are amazed that i can fuck for a long time even after ejaculating. 2 of them have had to tap out during sex from being worn out.

I am completely satisfied with Dr. Hakky's diligent install & overall guidance. Also, the Coloplast 22 cm has been a pretty amazing experience so far.

Any questions are allowed.

This is such good and welcome news, bro. Really happy for you and I’m sure it’s only going to get better and better and better with less pain, more enjoyment and more satisfaction.

Some questions for you!

- Has there been a significant impact on sensation, or is it as before?

- How have you been pumping up? Did you have to excuse yourself?

- And does the fact you have to pump yourself up to get hard now, bother you?

- What has the psychological impact of having the rig been? Are you feeling a burden lifted or are you feeling a degree of whatever; regret, shame, confusion...anything like that?

- It seems you’ve lost a half inch? But is this more due to lack of glans engorgement? I’m sure you will get back to normal length.

- How’s the girth?

- Are you experiencing the flatter penis effect?

- Are you happy?
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

The sensation is very good to be honest. Getting better after each sexual encounter. It’s pretty similar to what is was before.

I pump while fingering or making out. My new way is to ask for a back massage & pump while getting massaged. It’s not really that hard to keep it under wraps.

No pumping myself doesn’t get me down at all. I stay pumped after cumming & just keep fucking which is an incredible feeling.

Having the implant does instill a sense of confidence especially because I can fuck all night literally. The 3 girls have been blown away from the ability to fuck for several sessions. I would undergo surgery again to get where I am now.

When I am fully aroused my dick is thick af & length is still there. Gland engorgement is still a real thing because it is a different supply of blood flow that isn’t affected by the implanting process. I believe that with continued use & cycling that I will get back to where I was it I’m still satisfied of what I see every time I pump.

I’m completely stoked with the process. Flaccid is cool too because I have a constant bulge that has definitely been noticed.

LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.
