Questions about tips & cylinder placement?

Postby Gustavo71 » Sat Aug 04, 2018 12:15 pm

Hello to All,
This is my first post here, but I've been reading and visiting the site for over a year. Would like to thank everyone for sharing their experience and the advice given which was invaluable to me in making my decision. I'm 47 years old and had my surgery for a Titan implant on June 20th, 2018. Reason was a venous leak which just kept getting worse over time, so I decide to take the plunge and go bionic.

Everything went well with my surgery, better than expected. Recovery was a breeze, no real pain at anytime and I was out and about within a few days. Activation went well, and I had sex for the first time a little over three weeks post-op with no major issues or discomfort.
I would recommend to anyone suffering from ED to go through with this option from my experience. This is not to say that everything went perfect but I’m much better off now and the issues I have, two actually, I consider minor.

First, I did lose some size and a little girth. Now fortunately I was blessed with a nice sized dick at almost 8 inches and about 7” in girth. With the implant I’m about 6.5” normal length and about 7” when glands are engorged. As for girth I’m almost 6” normal and about 6.5 fully engorged. My wife actually likes that its not as long so in reality this is not a big issue for me and I’m fine as is, but I wouldn’t mind having my original length. Only reason I bring this up is because I believe its relevant to the other issue.

According to my doc, pre-op I would remain with my original length since I never suffered from impotence from all the Cialis I was taking almost daily. The cost of this was just ridiculous to the tune of $700 to $800 a month and they were becoming less effective and injections simply wasn’t an option I was willing to consider.

Now where my real concern comes from is I might have been slightly undersized, or the placement of the cylinders was off a tad. The tips of the cylinders do not go into the head/glands at all and its my understanding they should. As you can see from the pictures, cylinders reach to the edge of the head and are towards the bottom of the shaft. It is only a real issue at the time of insertion that I must position correctly and of course I’m always mindful of not pulling out completely thinking I might have a hiccup going back in, but this has never happened.

I say its not a huge issue because when I’m fully engorged the head is supported well (as in usable) and the bend of the head is not as bad as you see in the pictures. So, it is fine but not great. I have talked to my doc about this and he says he will put a couple of stitches pulling the head down and over the tips and that it will work. I am sure that he is right, and it will work but I can’t help but think this is simply a quick fix to the problem and not the best solution?

This is why I brought up the issue about length and sizing. It seems to me that the extra centimeter needed to push the tips into the glands would bring me closer to my original size and it would be perfect? I also assume I would feel the tips less as right now I can always feel them at the end of the shaft as they are now and I assume they would be less noticeable if they where in the head/glands .

As I mentioned before I’m sure my docs solution would work and it’s a simple procedure with little risk which is why I assume he is recommending it.

Has anyone here done the stitches?

Would a complete revision be worth it? Those of you who have had revisions do they tend to go smoother? Or is it a to much of a risk to redo everything for such a small gain thinking that the stitches would work?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Gustavo,
First, welcome to the club.
Second, wonderful pics to document your situation....
I’m not a doc, etc, etc., but it SURE looks to me like you were undersized, and by more than 1 cm. I’m nowhere near as endowed as you, but my tips are right in the center of my glans when deflated, and are within 1/4” of the end of my dick when inflated and engorged.

Thanks for the reply, I say a centimeter because my head is angled. When you see tip position from the top it would be in the head slightly.

It just seems to me that the cylinders went towards the bottom? I think if they were towards the top of the shaft it would be supporting the head better?

For someone considering an implant, I’m finding it increasingly alarming just how many people are so drastically undersized.

I’m no expert but as I understand it, the tips should be reaching well into your glans so as to support the whole length of the penis.

I’m sorry too that you’ve lost an inch and a half in length and some girth as well.

Is your doctor a specialist in this field?
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

WOW!! Your issue has taken me aback significantly! Months ago, I was very concerned about being implanted and put off my first scheduled procedure of July 16 until November 1st this year. While I may outwardly say that I have a great deal of confidence in my Virginia Urology surgeon, your pics showing your practitioner's obviously ignorant sizing blunder during the operation, and his 'taking a stitch' solution has truly shaken my overall opinion of this way to deal with ED! Have you asked who will pay for the re-do if that's the way you go? If the surgeon doesn't pay entirely, I'd sue him! I plan to take a vacation from this site since what I read more and more frightens the hell out of me. God help me that I can stay sane until November...if I make it that long without cancelling this irreversible procedure.

I wish you well in the correction of this egregious medical error!

My tips come 3/4 of the way into my Glans when inflated. There is no way what you have is properly sized. At least you can ue it, but I would demand a revision at the doc's expense.

Gustove71,

You are fortunate that you were well endowed and that the firm portion is sufficient for intercourse once inserted. If you had started with 5 inches you would be done for. Also, you are fortunate that the glans still becomes gorged but there is no guarantee that will continue if your leakage worsens. A proper implant should not depend on you getting partially engorged.

Please let us know how much of a volume this doctor does. My guess is that it is minimal and a lesson for those searching for a doctor. I know that Dr. Eid has documented instances where he was unsatisfied with the size and made adjustments 3 times including going to different cylinders before closing a patient.

Do not let this Doctor stitch you to patch his error. I am sure that is a deviation from the standard of care.
