So glad to hear that you did not need an additional surgery. I was also glad to hear that you are able to move the pump to where you can use it.
Be assured, as soon as I can get in my spa tub, I will feel around to see where the pump is.
Actually,it feels like it is in the center at the base of my penis...I hope that isn’t the case.
Also I would like to report, that I am comfortable today. Again, I am not all that inflated. When the cycling starts, that may all change.
I am not all that comfortable at providing too much personal information here, but, I too, am an older guy, and went through the same issues with ED as most here. Pills stop working, so I made the decision to get the implant, but I won’t down play the pain. I am a strong man, having had numerous surgeries,a knee replacement, and open heart surgery, and this surgery was the worst pain I have ever experienced.
Looking forward to when it is all a bad memory.
Reading the posts from so many that went through it, has really helped.
Thanks guys!!!

Find the bulb and gently pull it down several times a day. Good luck.

I didn't have burning along the shaft, but the head or glans did have a burning sensation. When having sex it almost felt like I was grinding on glass shards, ouch. I called it hypersensitivity and it peaked at weeks 5 to 7. By week 12 it was minimal and by week 16 it was at zero, no pain at all.

At week 6 I talked to my doctor about it and he said it was not unexpected and said it will get better with time.
ED since 35 with no known cause -- injections successful for over a decade with 10/1/30 and less than 20units but that became ineffective. Implanted penoscratally by Dr. Kramer of Baltimore on 9/13/17 with AMS 700 LGX 21cm + 0.5cm RTE at 47 years old

Stacheman Garber performed my surgery in October of last year. I hear you on his communication skills. All I can say is I put my trust in his credentials, skill, and experience and it all worked out for me. I expected way more pain and bruising than I got. I did have a lot of swelling so I kept a good schedule of icing in the beginning of my recovery. I went back to work 9 days after my surgery. My first week back was a little rough, but no one could have suspected that I recently had surgery. From time to time, I did have a burning sensation that was very quick and intense. I never really worried about it because FT prepared very well for what I might expect.

Give it time. I think you will be very pleased with the results!

Drop the mike....
It was nice to see a fellow patient of dr. Garber. He didn’t tell me what to expect, other than, “yes, there will be pain...” Because you were his patient, I have questions for you. How long did he have you wait until you could start cycling. I don’t see him until September, and I will be well over two months before I start using the pump. I was there for a two week follow up, and he said I wasn’t ready to start even at a month post op.
I have read stories here about scarring from not moving the pump or getting the tissue stretched.
Granted, I am still sore, but I just tried to find the pump but can’t find the release button.
Was it difficult for you at first? I hope I wind up with a good result, and this was worth it.dr. Garber didn’t tell me yet if he achieved a good result. I have no idea what I got.

After surgery he left me inflated to about 50%. At my 2 week appointment he deflated me and that was definitely a relief. He told me to come back in 4 weeks for my activation. So I was activated at the 6 week mark, although I think there have been other Garber patients here who have waited longer than 6 weeks for activation. I'm guessing health and healing of the patient would certainly be considerations, but there could be other factors. I think I read somewhere that Coloplast recommends at least 6 weeks to activation. One of the Coloplast patient advocates here might be able to chime in on that point. I know Dr. Eid gets his patients up and running after only 3 days! At any rate the prolonged time frame for activation worked just fine for me. My most recent measurement erect is 6 inches and girth of 5 inches. Also my curve has definitely improved as he told me it would. When I am erect and aroused you can hardly notice it at all.

As far as the pump is concerned I was aware of it but I did not tamper with it. When I first got out of surgery I didn't want to mess around with anything down there. Just followed the instructions I was sent home with and tried to take it easy and keep it iced. When I did finally start locating my parts, I noticed the pump was placed low in my sack between both of my balls. Everything I read hear made me believe that was precisely where it should be. As far a release button, I don't have one. I have the older model pump which is the Genesis which has a small bar on each side near the top. To deflate you compress the bars as you squeeze your shaft. Pretty easy and I believe Garber likes the older model since it is a simpler design with a better failure rate than the newer models. I'm guessing he gave you the same one unless you requested a different one.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your healing!

WOW, 20 posts to your name. All but two are links to online drug or herbal suppliers, one is a link to a dating site and one is an explanation on how to translate the foreign language on one of the other drug or herbal links.

I was implanted on July 19,2018, by Dr. Garber, a surgeon from Philadelphia. I chose him for his exceptional accolades and experience. Unfortunately, I cannot get enough information from him, because of his poor communication skills.
I went back to him twice, because I was concerned with the intense pain I was feeling, especially the “burning,” sensation in the shaft. He assures me that all is fine, but that doesn’t comfort me.
So, I am approximately 17 days out. I am partially inflated and have not been instructed to cycle. I also had a testicle removed, and had the ligament release. Swelling and bruising has subsided. I was implanted with the Titan Coloplast. Can someone address the sensation I am feeling in the shaft?

ST47,
This is a little late. Right after my catheter was removed my penis bent sharply left and when it did I felt a sharp burning pain around the cylinders. I also immediately corkscrewed. If that is also your problem then it is serious indeed. Probably not though sounds like your surgeon would have noticed it also mine went away rather quickly and yours seems to have lingered longer. Good luck.

Stacheman47 wrote:I am not inflated all that much, certainly not at 100%, and don’t know the percentage because my doc isn’t a great communicator. He let some out when I went back at 14 days after implant, but the burning persisted. Today I am at 17 days and the sensation has lessened.
I can’t understand how differently these doctors follow up with their patients. My doctor doesn’t even want me touching the pump until I am almost two months out.
I kind of thought this pain was from being stretched. Like I said nothing was explained to me so I had no idea what to expect.
Thanks for your reply.

People looking for information don't post a link hawking products and services with every post. Go to Craigslist or buy some FaceBook adds.
