Doing It On Your Own

I have tried to look this topic on the site with no success. I just found out I will be having the surgery with Dr Eid on my own. In other words nobody going with me. Can anybody walk me through getting back to hotel after surgery. Getting food and how long I must stay at hotel for. I'd like to take train from CT to NYC. I will be staying at The Bentley.
THANKS!

Call Dr. Eid's Office. They will help you figure out the details. They are all very helpful. I think they gave me a handout about medical escorts that would take you to the hotel for a fairly nominal fee but I did not need that and I am sure I no longer have it.
MNot sure how long your train ride is but my plan is to have my wife drive me home after surgery which is a 4-hour drive. Dr Eid said that will be fine. In part that might be because I will still have some help from the epidural block and it might be that it would be a more unpleasant ride the next day, not sure.
I did read a post on here by a guy from Austrailia that stocked the room fridge with frozen dinners and stayed about 6 days then flew home.
Best of luck. When is your surgery?

Please read Merrix's thread: My Journal
Merrix went to Dr. Ein in December 2015 if I remember correctly so that part of his thread should have some useful information for you. You've got it. When it gets down to doing it, you find yourself much more resourceful than you think anticipating it now. Planning is a great idea and never underestimate yourself. Cheers man.

I’m fine with coach. When studying for my masters degree at university I did night shifts at hospitals for four years, so I’m quite qualified. But I’m convinced you’ll handle everything on your own.

there are a multitude of guys who did it on their own using the bently hotel or affinity gardens hotel in manhattan with Dr Eid as surgeon. As mentioned above, Eid's office staff will tell you exactly what the protocol is for this. In a nut shell, you need to have a "medical escort" for the ride back to the hotel.
see my thread titled "packing list for implant patients staying at a hotel"
i will refresh it just to get added advice.
