Someone mentioned Dr Eid preferring spinal anaesthetia. I've read sometimes they put you out and sometimes not. Anyone know how Dr Eid does it??

He does prefer a spinal because it causes the penis to totally relax but generally gives also gives a general anesthesia (I assume a very light one) unless you prefer to be awake. I specifically asked if I could be awake and aware and he said that I could. I said I just hope I don't hear you say "uh oh". He said "sometimes you hear a lot worse language than that" :)

yes, Dr. eid prefers spinal since it allows him to do a better job (penis is erect in spinal). From your perspective, you still will be "totally asleep" during the whole thing.

For me, here were my memories:

I remember getting the slight needle stick in my back,
and then I remember lying on the operating table.
After that, I was completely out and have no conciousness from the surgery.
and then: My next memory was the good dr eid talking to me in recovery telling me that all went well.

Also, the spinal means you will have less pain during the first 8 hours after surgery -- and that is a good thing. So, do not have any concern about the spinal.

I did not have a spinal when I had the implant. But, I had one for a different operation and I do remember having back pain for about a day after the spinal wore off.

My plan is to be awake and aware with only a spinal when Dr. Eid does my implant. If I feel there is any downside I am sure I can ask them to knock me out but I am very interested in this process and want to cheer him on to give me another eighth of an inch :)

ummmmmmmm --- bad idea to be awake during a major operation
Just write a funny penis length poem and give it to dr eid just before surgery to emphasize how important having as much length as possible is to you, and perhaps that will inspire him

Seriously, this is the 21st century, you should be out during surgery

if you have Spinal Anesthesia you are knocked out don't be confused its (not a spinal) its a different way to deliver the drugs that knock you out and after you wake up keeps the pain away for hours couple days in my case it worked great
